Also, if the protagonist is a woman, doesn't mean it's feminist propaganda. That's like saying Kill Bill and the Alien movies are "feminist propaganda" just because they have women in the leading roles--regardless of their clearly fanservice scenes. You have The Last Jedi for that accusation.
Btw, would it be better for your head if I say that the women in this game will be relatively helpless to your male prowess and will fawn over your Ace skills by the ending? That's how AC5, AC6, and ACAH ended. Enjoy.
Also enjoy getting this thread shut down because for some reason, the mods doesn't like anti-feminist sentiments:

That is not a choice. You will get called an "ace" by the end and there's nothing you can do about it--even if all of your mission results are Ds.
Avril is the Spare squadron mechanic. That is her role in the plot. Also the named aces that were in every game are likely to be in this game and some of them could very well be female because there were female aces in the other games.
I really don't think "short-haired strong female got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by a male arch demon" is a 'feminist propaganda' lmao. Heck, I don't even think any Japanese materials--anime included--so far has any feminist propaganda. Most of them just wanted to fantasize strong female leads to pair with the male leads, while others does indeed write strong female lead but without denigrating males or getting into politics like the Western entertainment product does nowadays.
And btw, this is my definition of feminist propaganda:
