How can I delete my save game?
I've already gotten all the planes in the game and I want to start again from scratch. Is there a way to do that?

I recommend you just playing with restrictions if you want something new in your next playthrough. Deleting the savefile kills literary all the progress, INCLUDING skins, emblems and nicknames you've unlocked, not to mention Multiplayer stats (if you play).

I'm cool with that, I can earn those back. How do I do it?

%LOCALAPPDATA%\BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment\ACE COMBAT 7\SaveGames is the location, supposedly.
Probably better to keep a backup of it though. You never know, maybe you'll change your mind and want it back.

Good Idea :steamhappy:
Can't you just start a new game and overwrite the old one?

Nope. That option does not exist in the menus. I looked

I must be thinking of the older Ace Combats. I remember in like 4/5/Zero, you could click new game and it would allow you to start a new game from scratch.

Oh yeah, ik that feature. That really resets everything like you started fresh again.

Too bad this game removed it for people who wanted to replay the game with just very basic plane or OP planes from the Season Pass. Maybe the reason was the MRP or some kind. Or perhaps emblems and skins for multiplayer use.
I would think just restricting your part/plane use would be better then deleating the entire file itself, you can always restart the campaign at a different difficulty too

Thank you for this. Being able to replay from nothing has restored a lot of the fun of this game.

Who can help me? " An error occurred while downloading the save file "(Ace Combat7: Skies Unknown-pc) Reinstalled the game several times, file integrity checked - I don 't know what else to do.

Some people (like myself) want to replay WITHOUT all the unlocked stuff, because I don't recall doing it the first time. It's about having the same sense of progression as a vanilla start - self-imposed restrictions aren't really the same, because odds are you aren't going to know when you'd be able to unlock certain upgrades and/or planes, unless you do some pretty in-depth arithmetic on your own, which seems like an awful lot of work to simulate a "restart".

Well, that's why I was searching for how to do this, and found this thread. It's not really the same thing, just replaying missions with all your unlocked stuff and pretending you don't - but I guess I have not gotten THAT far in the game, I just didn't want unlocked stuff that I don't recall unlocking.

(I believe I let my friend play the game one night, and I say no thanks to his progress. Don't need it or want it ;) he's not me. My games are about ME!)

Can't believe I'm reading this.

There is a reason to delete the save file, and you can always just copy the complete file into a different folder, so have some copypasta from a speed running forum.

1. In Steam, turn off Steam Cloud in the properties for Ace Combat 7.
2. Open Windows Explorer, enter %LocalAppData% and press enter (or Start, Run, %LocalAppData%).
3. Find the "BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment" subfolder, move through the ACE COMBAT 7, SaveGames, and "seemingly random numbers" folder, copy the ACE7Save.sav file, and move it to another location. (backup purposes)
4. Delete the previously existing ACE7Save.sav file.
5. Start up the game as normal.

If you did this correctly, advancing past the splash screen will tell you "This game uses an Auto-Save feature" and will create a new save file. You will need to accept the EULA again as this is apparently also stored in the .sav file. You should now only have New Game (and SP Mission for DLC) available on the Campaign menu. You will also only have access to the F-16C and DLC aircraft you may have purchased. Your control scheme will be reset to default as well, so anything like Pitch Controls, Camera Movement, Acelleration/Yaw Controls, and Radar Map/Switch Weapons will need to be changed to your preferences before your run. Graphics and Display settings will not change to a default. Your Emblems will be changed to none.

You can later replace your original save file by deleting the new one the game created for your New Game run and moving the original copy back into the ACE COMBAT 7, SaveGames, "seemingly random numbers" folder.

And the original steps I derived from: https://steamcommunity.com/app/502500/discussions/0/1777135944136629085/
