Pay to win?
The most annoying thing i have seen in recent MMO's is the aspect of spending real money for game progression. i noticed that if you buy the game right now you get a certian amount of gold.

while this system of "pay x amount of money to get x amount of gold" is good for financial reasons. its horrible for attracting dedicated players.

I was about to purchase your game when i noticed you actually gained in-game gold for purchasing the higher teirs. i have no problem paying a subscription fee, thats not an issue.

the issue is buying gold with real money. this right here can turn 75% of your playerbase off, while you are still stuck with 25% buying gold and paying a subscription fee.

in the long run, it would be better to have a subscription fee, with no real money transactions to buy gold or items or any gameplay progression at all. i am however a supporter of visual transactions. skins, animations, etc. but the vanilla ones should be substancial enough you wouldnt have to buy them.

the game looks great, it looks like something i would love to play with my friends. but i will wait until release to see what happens.

Can someone point me in the right direction of the path this developer has taken reguarding my previous comments?

Of course, we will not plan pay 2 win. Game shop before Steam release was place for founders who help us to continue develop. Shop never had items or resources, only recipes to craft or build, titles, mounts or time saving bonuses.

We have plan to remake our shop soon and add skin support later.

I totally agree with "Upclose's" comments on p2w. I have deleted all my games from my steam library amd am taking an extended break from gaming because of the p2w nonsense that ruins most games. Hopefully developers will figure out that serious gamers like myself are unhappy with the p2w mindset. They need to choose what kind of customer base they want....and stick with what please that base the most.

Exactly. I have hundreds of hours in the mmo Wurm Unlimited, buy-to-play, and it's perfect.

Are there no survival games that you can simply one time purchase and you are good to go forever? ....lol...or is that delusional?

I simply want to find a game that has no magic crap and is realistic , intelligently designed and able to play with relative mechanical ease. Am I asking too much?

Thanks for your opinions! We fully agree with this approach and will try to in-game purchases does not harm the gameplay at all.

yes the game shop only gives out mounts, that might help some for travel. Then recipes for crafting which most of can be found in game. I dont see this as a pay to win.

But it looks like that. We'll remake our shop soon. Thanks for notices.

i agree totally with Upclose..it needs to be explained up front at time of initial purchase of game of whether it is P2W ..or not... i am so sick and tired of the "TRAP"...i immediately stopped playing Wurm Online because of this "TRAP".buying a game only to find out that you have to pay {A LOT OF] real money to level your toon and KEEP FROM LOSING most everything that you have spent so much time to accumulate!.So it is NOT perfect by any means Clk!! It is misadvertising...as far as i am concerned !!

I would also urge you guys to really reconsider subscriber bonuses and the ingame shop and make them as reasonable as possible. People might stomach some pay2win when the game is f2p but we're talking buy2play here and i think you already have plenty of examples from the last 2 years about how easily p2win can kill online games. Giving outrageous boosts for money in a game you've already bought won't convince people to sub, it's more likely to convince people to refund the game and leave a negative review. If people want to support the game beyond the initial purchase they will buy cosmetic stuff from the ingame shop anyway.

That said good luck with the release, if i see some changes to the business model i'm definitely buying.

Is this one of those cheap flash driven facebook games trying to cash in on a quick buck or am i looking at a serious game. Im a bit sus on this product. If its like the old Ultima Online without a pay2win scam then i'd be interested in grabing this and having a look. I personally would rather just pay one price for my games and have the option to buy extras that don't hamper a players ability to use all parts of the game service. similair to Path Of Exile market system non essential crap but looks good enough to buy. You could probably make alot of money off non essential gameplay things like unique building styles for housing, weapons and armor. So you can still craft everything in game you may just change the look of the armor you create by buying an addon otherwise its looks like the standard in game item without the add on.
Looks like your over charging for premium subscriptions anyway, 50 USD on discount from 79 USD for 7 days is asking way to much, what do you think i am a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bank! Thats over $100 AUD you expect without discount for 7 days, thats gotta make you the most expensive MMO on the market.
The more i read about the pricing the more im thinking they can punch this game in their sphincter!

Its not pay to win but there are almost no game mechanics right now. The game mechanics in are very juvilla heck world of Warcraft has a more complex crafting system. Its an incredible simple game. It was a complete waste of time and boring as can be. Haven and Hearth is free (up to so many hours) and has about 7 to 8 more times in content. There is a lot of games on the market mostly in Alpha that are in this genera none of them I would say come anywere close to Drawf Fortress in having advance multiple game mechanics that completment each other to give a deep highly replayable game. This is one of the worse of the bunch.

I was hyped until i sah the mainpage of this game. Sry but this will be a pay 2 win game, nothing else. You can buy 1000 Gold for 14.99USD, 3000 Gold and 7days premium Time for 49.99USD or 7000 and 30days premium Time for 99.99USD. Gold will let you buy stuff from the "Game-Shop" as well as premium Time. Premium Time let's you harvest more resorces, more chance on rare loot and quicker crafting times. These are not cosemetics, these are highly game breaking things you can just buy in the Shop. How should i have a chance vs a 30days premium guy that will out harvest me in no time??
I'm rly sry, but this game just droped of my whislist, i'm not falling for this trap..

What a shame. This caught my attention just from the screen shots and trailer. I literally know nothing about the game, but the content of this thread has put me off instantly. Will have a proper search around for ALL the information tomorrow, but p2w in any way at all is a deal breaker for me.

Rogalia appeared on steam less than a week ago. while it has relatively limited content (EA), it's B2P and nothing else (probably cosmetic cash shop later). It has quite a low population for now, but feel free to check it out if you need your sandbox fix

Just curious what could you buy to win? We don't sell items, resources or recipes. With premium you gather resources faster, but not more. Actually it looks like unmotivated hating.
