Best 5-6 man base for Lethal
My first pack of 3 Ferals just wiped me out Grrrrr. I'm thinking that sticking to a 6 man community might actually be better on Lethal as the increased costs of a big base and food etc I think might outweigh the advantages of the extra facilities when there are so few Materials and plus you get the extra bonuses from other settlements you haven't disbanded.

Question is which is the best 5-6 man base in the game for Lethal. I looked at Mazara farm with extra food and good location but defending it looks hard as hell, any thoughts.

I also figures the Fortified truck stop would be cool and I haven't ever set up there before.

So...which mid size base for Lethal.

You should be able to manage any size of base. Just manage your base noise. If a 3 pack cleared out your .. like 8 survivors then you really should equip them with better guns. A maxed out siege was still getting crushed from a 8man team armed with basically AK's.

I had seemingly a much easier time in Providence, was a ton of resources. I even looted the .. cleo caches?, in the bases. Best of all is it has bases that you can do anything you want (rather then dealing with a kitchen, water/electric machine, etc).

That lumber Mill is just so great. I didn't remain on it long, since i was finished once i got my Builder to leader. I had the trader and builder larger buildings, 3 large farms (1 for meds).

The best base has what you want, and none of the useless crap. Its really up to your play style.

Police Station (5man)
One of my favs. I think it has a profession ammo crafting table for .22? 9mm and .45cal. I believe with chemist upgraded to munitions that it was crafting 90x 9mm.
One of the key features I wanted on Lethal is a base that is central to the map. I chose Cascade Hills and the Corner Office base because it is right in the center.

A Nutrionist is a very big grab on lethal. Using rationing plus meal plan nets you 75% decrease in food consumption. Which means 8 survivors only eat 4 food a day. Which means 2 food outposts can keep you food neutral rather than making a garden, farm, or hydro. Almost all of the bases have a tier 1 or 2 kitchen in them as well.
I've been looking around and thinking if I fail in my current attempt Camp Kelenqua, yes has kitchen. I've never had a neutritionist, but have read a few people talk about using the kitchen lots in Lethal so sounds worth a try choosing cooking at first character selection as I imagine it takes time to level cooking that far.

I like the corner office location and usually have at least a couple of outposts there but its a bit busy in town for me, I prefer the country life...

Yea when I got wiped I only just have 4 characters and wasn't that well armed. I hoped on my car outside, having been caught by them at the petrol station but the watchtower did nothing and they went straight inside, and that was that the AI wasn't helpful.
Squelones Brewing Company and Loch & Keogh lets you produce trade goods from Food/Ethanol. Both "small" bases on Providence Ridge are good choices. The Church in Cascade Hills is very centrally located but not good at defense. Mike's Concrete is an excellent medium sized base in Drucker County. All bases except the Church in Meagher Valley are good for different reasons.

The best defense is the Whitney Field in Meagher Valley. If you build a Watchtower in a location that lets the guards actually shoot at 2+ entries and it is possible for them to shoot at zombies inside the base as well, they are very useful. If it is surrounded by lots of tall, roof-covered facilities or only have a clear view to one entry (or none), then you only get the Threat reduction and two less survivors to actually fight the zombies attacking.

Mazara Farm isn't bad at defense if you put the Watchtower in the small slot between the well and the grain silo. And you put the Farm in the large slot that's not in the corner and don't upgrade it to lvl 3 (which adds a roof). That way it's only the entrance by the cars that is not protected, and that one is rarely attacked by hordes.

Regardless of all this, if you are attacked by two Juggernauts, Ferals and several waves of zombies in a siege, your crew needs good guns to deal with them.

The more people you have shooting, the better. And they should be packing .50 am-rifles, 7.62 assault rifles and auto shotguns. Even better; get hold of as many full-auto-only guns as you can. The RTX Cyclone is easy to get several of as they are sold by the Red Talon traders. The magazine capacity is very low so there is a lot of reloading, but one salvo should wipe out a horde. So every time you swap to another survivor, you equip a .50 rifle or other good base defense gun before switching.

As noted above, don't play Lethal without a kitchen! You need it for the Slow Cooker, Feast and Rationing.
