Pause game when looking at map

I'm constantly getting lost or crashing or attacked when driving and checking my map for directions. a pause on game while checking out directions would go far to alleviate this very frustrating action. surely i can't be the only one to request this.....

I prefer things the way they are, but I would like to see a pause while customizing character outfits in your base.

Zombies wouldn't stop attacking you if you stopped the car irl to grab a map out of the glove box.

people tend to stop driving when checking the map..and go in roof of their cars just to be safe in a zombie apocalypse game
pro drivers ..wants high risk..checking map while speeding..though it is not recommend.
drive safe!.
stay at home.

I actually like this part of the gameplay. Having to check my mini-map for safety before popping up the big one and scouting out my next target keeps me from feeling safe. That whole "You are never safe" aspect is extremely appealing, considering so many games work to give you an immense amount of safe options.

It's also made my accessing the big map and finding a location a hell of a lot quicker. Lol. When that Feral howls as you are looking for the route to your next mission, you learn to be fast or be eaten.

although I would agree with the realism of the game etc..., and not being able to pause the game while doing something else in the game, a 'true pause option' would be appreciated: if I wanna go to the toilet irl, or listen to what my wife is saying to me (sometimes I must..), a real pause, even not allowing us to navigate through the menus nor anything else, would be useful anyway. Being forced to quit the game every time, and losing progress on whatever I was doing is a bit tedious...

The game does have a pause button. Just turn off multiplayer lobby and you will instead be put in single player mode, and you will pause the game when ever you press escape to go to the game settings.

im with you i wish the game would pause like in most game or i can zoom out the minimap to see where the ♥♥♥♥ im going

If you asking for pause, you don't understand the game. The thing is, you are only quite safe in bases. Constant fear of death is the game theme.
