My favourite maps are cascade hills and drucker county. They both got awesome large base with great option of customization (cascade with the container fort and drucker with baricaded mall) and loot hub locations. If you're new i would suggest you try providence ridge first as it was intended as go to map after tutorial.
The best place is right where you start. Explore the immediate area around your base to loot everything. Any map is fine to start. Meagher Valley is my least favorite but it might be more friendly to a new player because you don't know any of the off road shortcuts and MV does not have many obstacles to driving compared to the other maps. Build your workshop and infirmary first.
Okay great and thx for your tipps
i like providence ridge, lumber yard or firestation are good endgame bases
Cascade Hills is probably the best map currently with its new Landmark Outpost. Though I still have a soft spot for Drucker County.
Meagher Valley has the nicest bases, visuals and Landmark Outpost in my opinion. Renewable energy and a booze distillery for a base, what's there not to love? It has arguably the lamest 8-man base, but you don't need to live in one of those, anyway.

What new base?

There is no new base. Instead each map has a "LANDMARK OUTPOST" which gives unique benifits.

Drucker
Hospital - Gives your team meds per day and a smaller stackable version of the Field Hospital buffs.

Meagher Valley
Wind Farm - Gives noiseless power and small morale bonus for having power.

Cascade Hills
Concrete Factory - Gives you the benifits of the Staging Area

Providence Ridge
Church - Gives a variety possible buffs including, "watchtower" "lounge" "bunks"

In my opinion. Cascade Hills has the best Landmark Outpost. While Meagher Valley has the worst bar none.
Providence wasn't bad, spent a lot of time on it so must have liked it. I liked the container fort in Cascade but the map didn't do much for me. Meager was frustrating because way too much of it is designed to get in the way. So far Drucker seems pretty decent. I like the open design options for a couple of the medium bases. The strip mall looks cool but haven't been there yet.

Still trying to decide what map I'm going to play first after boon unlocking and starting a long term save.
After playing through all the maps, my favorite map is Meagher Valley, it is very flat, you can take many shortcuts, and it is very quick to reach the mission target, there are no stupid mountains or stones to drive around, Unfortunately, the map has two disadvantages, there are less good resource locations and the bases are not as nice as on the other maps , but the map is still ideal for quick campaign games .
Meagher Valley: Police Station is a good base. It allows me to craft .22 9mm .45 as if i got a chemist (also removes the luck in getting the ammo crafting mod).

I generally use this map for my 100% fresh starts all because of the station. Also, it is super easy to travel cause its mostly all farms.

Providence Ridge: Basically with Red Talon and Hacking.

Honestly, it has the best bases. The lumber mill has gotta be the best end game base. I find it has a ton of easy materials.
Providence Ridge & Rusty Rosie's. always.
okay my new favorite Map is Trumbull Valley ;D
Trumbull And Meagher

and rn i will just switch maps back and forth XD
I enjoy all the maps, but for beginners Trumball & Meagher are probable the most forgiving for getting around quickly. You can cut across country very easily. I have a continuing community where I just change maps as soon as I loot everything - always just set the map to random and all settings to lethal. They are all worth playing. As far as bases go, I prefer to be central in the map - you can pretty much tweak everything with outposts (a maxed out command center w/ a network signal booster; if lucky a red talon survivor with the hacking 5th skill for 7 outposts total). Being able to upgrade outposts with the recent update - all bases are viable with the exception of the starter bases with no large outdoor plots.

I think Trumbull Valley is the best beginner map, you can do a lot of off-road driving, there is a very large base in the middle of the map from which you can reach all places quickly, there are many military looting sites, I have also found all of the home bases so far the best.
