Another game just stealing data

Bought this and it requires an xbox account which requires all my person information.

I just want to play a game. FFS I can't even play videogames anymore without some ♥♥♥♥ having my data.

I have done particular things to my windows 10 to cap it.

These people just don't realise how much their data is taken and how much ID theft exists.

Because the cookies are used for meta data and advertising, as well as quality of life features on the internet (I mean you don't think cookies are just data collection tools do you?). Why do you think the meta is sold in the first place. Its not like its a secret. Meta data is compiled and sold to corporations in use for advertising. Because they are spending money on data to better sell products so they can make more "MONEY" as always its about "MONEY" Your files aren't worth "MONEY" so they don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about them. The Government also doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about them.

The files on your computer aren't being traded and sold. Your Meta Data however is. None of which has anything to do though, with a free xbox live account or the idea that signing up for it will allow microsoft to access your computers files and use them for....... (what exactly?) Sad.

It actually doesn't sell for lots of money. Its just sold in large numbers. If I remember correctly an individual facebook accounts meta data would be worth about $0.0252

And that's a highly valuable data. The achievements, gameplay time and library, of an anonymous email address is worth............ (is it possible to be less than 0)? Can I ask who do you think is going to buy that data? Or are you still implying that Microsoft is going to steal data off your pc because you made a Free Xbox Live account?

I've heard of methods to disable data collection in W10, but I've yet to scrounge up anything on the net to properly hamstring it. Would you mind shooting me a personal message with a site with instructions/details that I can use for research purposes? I'm probably going Linux after this rig dies, but it's still good to know.

Nearly everything farms your data to some point anymore. Video games seem to be a lot better at letting you know this than a lot of other tech and software out there. Probably why you hear more people complain about it on game forums than most other places.

There's just about nothing a video game is gonna farm from you that more than likely has not already been propagating through a lot of other data collection services from various other tech, software and platforms that most everyone uses to some degree or another.

I don't like it as much as the next person. Nothing you can really do about it though.
