Ah didn't know that you could recruit the whole soldier enclave. How does that happen? Is that the same one as the one when you get to recruit the "runaway"?
The Automechanic one I haven't experiened the opportunity to recruit anyone of them beyond 9 survivors. Are there more missions after they have become Allies?
In any case, what do you want 3 Mechanics for :p
Well now that autoshop building is actually decent you may want automechanic to make those triple advanced repair kits. Engineers might be fun to stock up on attachments. (though personally I would kick them out)
If I remember correctly when they ask you for your first mission (go fight the infestation) with them simply say no. Then they will call you again later and ask for you to accept all of them into your community.
I think I lost a survivor doing that once. They immediately started shooting as they went hostile when I refused... unless I confuse these guys with a random mission where they are looting a building or something, and ask you to split the spoils.
Red Talon are people you can hire in, and you can choose not to accept the person called in and refund the purchase price. At which point you can wait the timer out and repeat till you get the red talon you want.
