BL2 Loading Issue -- Crash?

So I just purchased BL2 GotY Edition, and installed it on my laptop. This morning, I opened it, played it for a few minutes (just to make sure it wasn't laggy and worked, etc.) and got as far as Claptrap's home, receiving my first weapon. I saved and quit.

Now when I attempt to play the game, it opens just fine up until I try to open my save file; then it gets to the load screen (where you get random tip messages, background picture, rotating gun, etc.) and it suddenly closes with my computer trying to diagnose why the program closed, followed by Steam telling me it can't run the application because it's already running.

Is this just my computer not having the capacity to run the game and thus it crashes, or is something else possibly going on? I would have thought it would crash even with my first playthrough if it was going to have a crashing issue.

If you were able to run the game, there shouldn't be a problem - imo...
What happens if you create a new character and exit/load?

I had my first issue today actually, after 350h+, where the game started loading (after leaving the Leviathan-area in the Scarlet DLC) but nothing happening for minutes... I ended the game-process and tried to load up my character, to no avail... still stuck in the loading-screen.

I solved my issue by:
1: Shutting down game.
2: Making a backup of the save folder(just in case)
C:\Users\(UserName)\Documents\my games\backups\borderlands 2
3: Moving the pirate DLC out of the install-directory
(SteamHome)\SteamApps\common\Borderlands 2\DLC\Orchid
4: Loading up game and enter game with the problematic character.
(Game will place you in Claptrap starting-area, Windshear Wastes)
5: Saving and quitting game (all the way out to windows)
6: Moving the pirate DLC back to where it belongs.
7: Restarting game...


Though, since you're still in the "base-game"... this solution wount work for you. :/


(addendum... seems like Oasis is Screwed for me. I just killed Grendel, but when trying to return to Oasis I got the same load issue.)
