Uhh, Profile Editor help?
So, I downloaded the profile editor software for bl2, but I have just one little issue. When I go to open my profile.bin file, it doesn't show up. I go through documents, into my games, etc...
I have also tried using the "open with" option, and it still doesn't seem to work. Help?

Are you sure you are looking in the right place? On PC the profile.bin lives here :
My Documents / My Games / Borderlands 2 / WillowGame / SaveData / [long number]
Your save files and profile.bin live in the [long number] folder.
If the profile editor isn't looking there when you use it, you will have to do some navigation.

I would suggest making a backup copy of profile.bin before you go messing with it. That way if you mess up, you have a backup.

Profile.bin is where your gold keys, unlocked skins including SHIFT code ones are stored. SHIFT code stuff is tied to your Steam account, so once you activate a particular SHIFT code, it cannot be re-used. If that SHIFT code was for skins or reward gear, you will not be able to re-acquire it.

Yeah, I understand what the profile.bin file actually is, it just doesn't show up in the save editor when I go through to look for it

In which case I have no idea why. Can you see the profile.bin if you just navigate to the folder using explorer?

But the profile editor doesn't find it? Very strange. I don't know what to suggest.
