There's an obscure way to do it though - you need the TexMOD tool and a special file pack where all the numbers and floating words textures are replaced by a small, transparent pixel square.
The TexMod executable[www.dropbox.com]
and
The no floaters package for texmod[www.dropbox.com]
I will keep these links active for a week - so grab them before that.
Now, how you go about it is a bit fiddly and honestly it's been a while since I used it myself, so I may give wrong instructions. The problem is that Steam doesn't deal well with third party injectors and insists on closing the game or that the game is not running.
But I *think* I did it like this:
Always assuming you are using Windows of course.
If all went well, your Borderlands now has no floating numbers and indicators anymore.
You need to repeat 6-8 though every time you start the game.
Yes, it's fantastic, thx!
