Does everyone in the party need the DLC to play the DLC campaigns?
If I have the DLC does everyone else need it as well? Or does it allow them to play it with me without needing to buy? Also, please let me know if this is the wrong area to post this, I can move this post. Wasn't sure what this would fall under.

It's a bit more complicated.

If you play base game content, none of your firends need any DLC you have besides the base game. But they can't join you to play in actual DLC areas.

If you want to play DLC maps / quests with your friends, then yes, they need the DLC. But again only those you want to play.

One can have them all, another only three, yet another only base game. Doesn't matter as long as you stay in areas all players have (in effect, the player with the fewest available areas, in this example the base game content).

On the other hand, if you all want to play the Tina Tina DLC and have it, then you can play together even when other DLC owned do not match between players.

This is so that you can play with your DLC shinies in base game lobbies - you can even drop them, but players can't use them unless they also own the DLC. <edit: I think

Also of note would be the level cap DLC - If you own both, you can level up to 72 and even OP levels, but your friends (if they have none, for example) would stay at 50, making the game brutally harder for them with every level you gain (monsters generally adjust level to the highest player in the endgame (3rd playthrough).

So if you want to regularily play to max level and OP levels, then all players need both level cap DLC.

Edit: And I just realized the actual question was in the thread title and has been answered by Draekus. Apologies.
Well, useful info for the newcomers anyway.

Thanks a ton for the info, it's always nice having a break down of how it works.

One possible exception is Natural Selection Annex (entered through Wildlife Exploitation Preserve). I have read that if the host has the NSA DLC, other players can enter it with them, but I've never tried that myself.

On the items from DLC, someone who does not have the DLC it came from can pick up the dropped item (from other player) and have it in backpack, stash or bank but can not equip it.

On Creature Slaughter Dome, all that need have it is the host, non owners in the game can go in and play it with the host. Some say that unlocks it for non owners, but that may have been patched, I never tried I bought it. I did have a non owner play it with me, never thought to ask if it unlocked. OH, it's an unlock, not a download or it would not work.
