I had the same issue till i was about level 5-6 then a few games popped up, it does seem like players want to get thier action skill going before they think about opening public games, None the less feel free to add me, I just completed my first PT and about to start a new toon, commando was a lil boring to play lol

A lot of people keep their games private because Gearbox left in a "hardcore mode" where your character gets deleted if you die. Some people have activated it through various means, even though it wasn't supposed to be available. Which wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that, if you play with a player that has this setting activated, your save also gets it. So if you play with the wrong person online, your save gets essentially deleted if you die even once.

That's my guess as to why the public games are dead.

Although Borderlands is a coop game, its's actually not very coop friendly. Playing with random people, different ideas about how to play; using The Bee, may cause disagreements, sharing loot and don't forget that people on a different level to you will either be very much weaker or stronger than you and will either be useless or kill absolutely everything. It all adds up to Borderlands is actually the least friendly coop, coop there is. You are far better finding some friends you can play with and sticking with them for the entire campaign.
