Can't change network settings in-game
Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, I cannot find a solution anywhere. Borderlands 2 automatically loads in offline mode. I can only switch to LAN. If I try to switch to any other options it automatically shows me this message:
"A problem occurred while changing network options. Your game is now in Offline mode. To play with friends, please change your network options."

I noticed it after a friend invited me to join his game, before that I'm fairly certain it was loading me in online mode.
I've tried clearing the game cache and every time I load it up it says a file will need to be re-downloaded. No ports are blocked on my router, everything else works fine. Ideas anyone?

Nope, online. It's not that I can't see my friends (well, I can't), but as soon as I try to switch to any game mode apart from offline or LAN, I get the error message above.

I'm having trouble finding matchmaking games, just sits on the searching for games screen forever. Maybe there is just a problem right now.

Having the same problem. Installed the game two days ago, played without any problems online with friends, and now I'm getting this error. Annoying!

Guys, I fixed mine. Kind of. My copy of the game was the retail edition that comes with the extra weapons, gold key and Mechromancer DLC (i bought mine about two days ago too). I "fixed" it by getting the latest DLC, the pirate one. Now I can play online with friends.

My game randomly crashes during co-op gameplay but that might just be my PC.

Hmm. Mine was a Steam code from Greenmangaming. I didn't get the Mechromancer DLC but I did get a gold key oddly. I also bought the Season Pass (which has the Pirate DLC). Clearly a really easy problem to fix - I just wish someone knew what it was!

Hey, Just had the same problem, Started up Borderlands 2 and it went automaticly to "Offline mode" and came up with an error message every time I tried to change it.
Anyhow. Just randombly tried to restart Steam and fixed the problem for me :P
PS. only DLC I've got is the "Psycho Pack".
