UI is awful
When you say you are designing a PC specific UI but then give all your devs an xbox controller it kind of negates the point. Did anyone at Gearbox try and use a mouse with this game? Navigating the inventory is shameful. Accepting a quest you have to take one hand off to press enter.

That love letter claptrap wrote to PC users was about as worthless as the character himself. But probably the best joke in the whole game.

That's what a keyboard is for, arrow keys and enter does everything for you. The UI is well built and a step above the original I think personally.

The keyboard in borderlands 2 was designed for one thing. Throwing out a window in a fit of rage. Followed by the mouse. Then the computer. Then Randy Pitchford.

I hated the general layout at first, but it did kinda grow on me. what annoys me is that it's glitchy trying to use a mouse.

clicking to go to my inventory screen will sometimes cause the inventory to bug out and not scroll. other times the game selects something other than the item I clicked, causing me to equip or store the wrong item, or in the worst case, sell the wrong item.

If anything, I'd prefer to not have to click to switch between my inventory view and equip view. same with my skills too. I want to be able to see everything all at once, the current UI is controller friendly in that it focuses on specific areas, whereas a mouse could freely flow between all areas without issue, making this an annoyance.

Wait... I'm using my mouse for everything... I don't press enter at all, or I am just not noticing i'm pressing enter at all, thinking i'm using my mouse.

It's still better than the vanilla Skyrim UI.

...and a better love story than twi.... never mind.
It's a massive improvement from Borderlands, but I know what you mean. It doesn't bother me too much. What drives me nuts is the driving mechanic.

I couldn't agree more! Why can't I just have the entire inventory showing at once? Why doesn't it show everything you currently have equipped on THE RIGHT hand side instead of being covered up completely by the tooltip and your ammo count (or move that to the other side). Switching weapons... If this game had a proper inventory you could just drag and drop, which is much more intuitive than clicking searching in another dropdown and clicking again.
Also: Shared stash - 4 slots? WTF? So, there is an easy way to share stuff between characters, now. That is indeed awesome and as a solo player I thank you for that! But then you are making it such an annoying chore to actually move stuff around - 4 items at a time. I don't get it.
Quest tracking. Why only one at a time? Map: Why can't I just see all quests in the area at the same time? Why can it not be clearer what is a passable route and what isn't?

(damn I'm in a foul mood today)

basically what orionite said

You can just click on the word Enter to accept a quest. No need to remove hand from mouse.

That's so counter-intuitive, though. Your left hand is on WASD and your right hand is on the mouse. Why would they place the keys used in menus nowhere near those two places? Many, many games allow you to use WASD to navigate menus and E to accept/equip. Borderlands 2 is NOT one of those games. OP's post is a legitimate gripe and one of the very few I have with this game.

Yes thankyou. Im sure I will get used to it. but pretty annoyed how they could ♥♥♥♥ up the UI yet again.

It's better, like they promised, but why they had to have your character so large and blocking your items from being selected as junk, we'll never know.

Just so ya know, you can just click to accept quests. The quest menus are fine, the only problem is the inventory.

Just get a wired 360 controller and be happy. Borderlands is a joy to play with the 360-pad.

Actually...you CAN drag and drop weapons around.. and Borderlands automatically switched tabs for you
