What to do with all this iridium?

OK, I am building up a pretty substantial stock of this stuff, but where can I actually spend it?

The purple stuff? You'll get a quest that shows you to use it on the black market, you can buy upgrades, more ammo capacity etc

You spend iridium with Crazy Earl in Sanctuary for extra space in your backpack or the ability to carry more amunition for each weapon type.

I bought all my SDUs ... O.o I feel like they should have had Crazy Earl sell a random surprise item box with a higher than normal chance for rare items for 5 a piece! Because right now I'm capped on Iridium.

Speedy, since you bought all the upgrades, can you tell me what your max ammo is for the shotgun and sniper ammo? Mine is 180 for shotgun and 108 for sniper, but I think it should have been higher.

Ive fully upgraded sniper ammo, but you can also upgrade ammo max with relics. As a result I can carry around 150 sniper ammo

Weren't there two uses for the eridium? Purchases and then upgrading weapons was what I remembered being advertised before release.

NoisyInk, thanks for the info about the sniper ammo. Can you tell me your max without any relics? I've made all the purchases (all the way through orange for 20 eridium) and it only shows a max of 108. Shouldn't it be 120 without any relics or class mods?

In a pre-release interview with Randy Pitchford, he mentioned Iridium being very valuable to unlock certain end-game features. Nothing more was specified, but there's probably another use for it than just black market. (maybe yet to be unlocked, possibly pushed to DLC)

I believe you can also use Eridium for E-Tech weapons. Not sure though.

I found you cant carry more than 99 bits of eridium.

The ammo upgrades are a must if you use any weapon that uses multiple bullets per shot.
