Easy way to kill him.

First crack at him, I died. Respawned, then when you get next to the ammo machine, BEFORE you go into the area where you fight Flynt, stay on the ledge. He will come within range and you can just wear him down from there.

Also, a glitch. I made it up to that area before I saved the claptrap from the 4 bullies or whatever, and I was able to hop around and get into the fighting area where you take on Flynt. There is nothing to do until you get the claptrap and he officially opens that area for you.

Yep same thing happened to me. I just Gunzerked a few times and done! Not sure if the level was meant to be that way or just happenstance but it works.

I just ran around and avoided him, and killed off all the other enemies first. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.

Speaking of whom, did any of you get a bug where Clap-Trap didn't come up with the crane?

Got the same bug... restarted and it didn't happen again though
