Since this ancient thread has found new life, I have recently set about farming a set if elemental bees for my OP8 Zero. Reputed to be extremely rare, they are worth the effort IMO. Fighting Terra with his ludicrous health bar? Fireproof bee. Digistruct surveyors downing you? Grounded bee. Farming Vermi in Caustic? Alkaline bee will help you survive those inevitable wades in the acid. Spread over about a week, maybe 40 - 50 kills of just the first 4 treeants only, and I had my set of 3 elementally resistant bees. I got lucky on the stats, with the longest recharge delay being 6.3 seconds, which I can live with. So if you use the bee a lot, spend the time to farm treeants until you have some of the best shields in the game.
While he does drop Bee relatively often (yay, OP2 Bee), I've noticed that his Bee doesn't have prefixes (or maybe I'm just unlucky). If that's the case, then hunting Treants may end up being the better choice for the chance to get a Bee with a prefix (dot immunity for one of the elements with better amp damage as a bonus effect).
Yeah, especially since they cheat and follow you even when you are in deception.
I didn't keep any stats, but just estimating the time spent on hellquist vs treants and number of bee shields, it's not even close. Treant option gets you more bee shields imo. Unless anyone has any evidence of hellquist or blood tree camp treants dropping better bee shields, I think the best route is to just kill the first five treants and start over.
I got this tip from someone in this forum:
If you accept the mission from Aubrey, but don't take the sapling from her, there will only be a few orcs in the camp, and new ones don't spawn. That makes getting to the blood pool much simpler. But it may also mean that you don't get the two treants in the camp (I'm not sure), so there may be a tradeoff there.
Apparently some people just run by the orcs in the camp, but that never really worked for me. It seemed like one or more always followed me.
