I'm at the part where you have to find the 3rd rune, but the door to the place i have to go to is always closed. any idea why?

You have to solve the puzzle. Just watch the cube's actions and it's easy to figure out.

Just follow this guy's advice.
Or just punch the stupid thing. Solving it gets you a chest, if I remember correctly, but if you're willing to take the chance that you'll miss out on some loot, just punch the cube.

i have the same problem, iths the gate in the hall of emancipation, i killed everything and got the second rune, all the beards and crumpets, gate still wont open

That's because you don't go through that way. I got stuck there too. But the fact is, you take this weird almost hidden path. Not that gate that seems like the right way.

But in all the videos I've watched on it, the door is open. Even the IGN walkthrough has the door open.

I wish I knew what door, going from second to third, working your way down the pact, past the spiders, around right, up then down a bit of steps between building and to one on the left, there is a door with bars that will open once you kill a bunch of stuff, other than that I draw a blank.

You don't have to solve the puzzle to get the chest, if you're not kreig it's very easy to punch the puzzle, then grenade jump over the gate, get the chest, then kill yourself with a rocket lawnchair and respawn. Although, it's one of the dice chests and the dice chests are stupid considering the best possible thing you can get out of them is purples, from what I know, because i've gotten 20's from the dice chests a couple of times and every time it's just purples. It's not worth wasting the eridium on it.

you need 2X20 to get legendaries and your right it's not worth the eridium but if have 500 and nothing to spend it on why not. fwiw i have gotten 3 legendary items from dice chest but iv'e opened about 500 of them
