Can anybody help me? My Borderlands 2 saved game updated from internet files and I lost 3 days progress :(
I have been playing Borderlands 2 for a couple of weeks now, and I was really having a great time. Unfortunately my little brother does not have his own computer and he plays on mine. He went into Borderlands 2 and updated the game from cloud save files, and I lost a week's progress. I went from level 23 to level 16. Is there any way for me to reverse this? Please, somebody help me!

You can try restoring previous version of file in windows. Right click the save file (back it up first) choose restore previous version, there'll be a pause , then you get a list of previous versions of that file, choose the one you think has the missing data on it and restore. go in game to test if you got the right one, if not, rinse , repeat
There is no option for restoring to previous version :/
I'm not sure if by restoring windows you also lose other data you worked on in the meantime. Instead, you should just take this as a lesson I guess about who you let on your pc. Also, it is easy to make a manual back up of your game files. Just type Borderlands 2 in your start bar, then click on the file with that name (not the game icon, that'd start up the game itself). From there, open WillowGame>SaveData. There you'll find a file with a series of numbers. This file you need to copy paste to your desktop, preferably into a new file called BL2save or something. When you are done playing BL2 after a session, close the game, then copy paste this file and overwrite the older backup. Now, if your brother does anything to mess up your game, you can copy paste this backup over where your savefile normally is (In SaveData) and then if you restart the game you go back to where you stopped your last session.

I hope this helps. I've had some issues with steam cloud mucking up my game repeatedly, so this was my solution, and so far it has worked great. Hope it will for you too, good luck.

Might be taking the fun out of leveling away a bit. Might be better to give him a char save that was around the level that he lost, so he can pick up again where he left, rather than give a completely played through game.

Otherwise it's like saying "I bought a sandwich, took a bite, but it fell on the ground", and somebody replies "Here, have mine, I already digested and pooped it out for you, you just have to flush it". Sorry for the nasty metaphor, but you get my point I hope ;). He isn't that far into the game, let him at least play through it on his own once.
yeah. i will play through it, but where can i download those saves? i have a friend who wants them.

Hahahaha! Very funny when you visualize it. :)
If you accidentally over-ride your save with a cloud save, or get a corrupted savegame somehow, you can fix this by renaming the back-up save (.bak) in your savegame folder to a number (.###) which will make it playable. i.e. change Maya.bak to Maya.007
Yeah i tried that, but it did nothing. I'm just gonna keep playing. I'm back up to level 21 and i found a legendary gun, so I'm happy.

Yeah, sure. A friend wants them.
Fuilty as charged. I wouldn't mind a copy of them.

You'll get bored of the game really fast if you skip to endgame like this.
OK. This almost killed the game for me... but I found a way out!

Go to:
C:\Users\C:\Users\YOUR-PC-LOGIN-NAME\\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData

There should be a folder in there with a long number for a name. Copy that folder.
Now delete the files out of it.

Start Borderlands 2 and start a new game. It's a pain, but you have to go past the bit where ClapTrap has his eye stolen at the very start... when you leave his home the game saves. Quit the game.

This has now created a new save file.

Download the Borderlands 2 Save Editor from:
http://blog.gib.me/2015/02/16/borderlands-2-save-editor-revision-248/

Run it and open the save file from the COPY folder in:
C:\Users\TOURPCLOGINNAME\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData

You may have more than one save so open the saves until you find the character you want.

Click Save

Save it over the newly created save (in the ORIGINAL foolder, not the copy)

Open Borderlands 2

Your character is back

Rinse and repeat for any other character
