Can't choose to play in "true vault hunter mode"

Hey, so i just finished my first playthrough in this amazing game, and now i would like to start my second playthrough in vault hunter mode. Problem is i can't choose to do so.. Anybody that could help me out?

When you start your game, choose select character instead of continue. Select the same character again and requester window should pop up asking which mode you'd like to play in.

You can only choose TVHM with a character who has beaten Handsome Jack. If you're trying to start TVHM with a new character, you won't have the option.

Like the guy said above me, you can only play TVHM with characters you beat in the first playthrough.

Sorry if i was unclear, by completing this first playthrough i ment i had beaten Jack, just didn't want to spoil it.

@cllwrks This is what i tried, window is just not popping up :< anything else i could try?

Just to make sure you aren't chasing a red herring: you did get the prompt on that character that you unlocked TVHM, right? I think it comes up right after the end credits.

Vextyl, go into your mission log and make sure all main story related quests are marked as complete. If you skipped a main quest, which may be possible if you play co op, TVHM may not have triggered. If any of those main quests are not complete just finish them and it should trigger.
