Borderlands 2 trading card badges?
Hey,

I just joined the Steam Trading Card Beta and saw that some of my friends have a "CL4P-TP" badge for 100xp, but they don't even have any BL2 Trading Cards, what does that mean? I thought you get the badge for 6 cards?

Once you get all 6 cards you get the badge, and with all six cards you can craft them for a BL2 related profile background and some other things. I got a Maya background a 50% off coupon for a game i'm never going to buy, that expires within 2 weeks and this :borderlands2:

So they might have done the same as me, and crafted the cards. Hopefully they got better things than I did though.

Oh ok, that's how it works. So the cards disappear after crafting and you get the badge and some bonus items?

playing the game it will give u 4 drops by default,so all u do is trade or buy the missing cards for the collection(6) then u click on badge and view it just press create then it will show the iteams placeholder u get also notify u there in your inventry, this will give u emotion, background or watever u are lucky to get,im not sure but i think the limit is 5 times u can do this?:bandit:

But I don't have to create a new character to get my drops, right?

No, btw its only 3 drops you get by playing the game.

How exactly do you trade to get all the cards if everyone only gets 3 anyway? Do I need to play other games and trade the cards from those (getting a background would be cool, but I really don't feel like replaying HL2 or getting back into TF2 for now).

Not everybody is collecting the cards...

Does "playing the game" mean progressing in it or do you get them after staying in the game for some time? I'm asking because like Bisected8 I own HL2 and TF2 and would like to get the cards for trading/selling, but I don't really feel like playing those games again.

I'm guessing more games will follow this trend. Sounds cool :D

Yes, if you dont even feel like playing certain games, you can at the very least install and leave the games running for a while until you reach your card limit.:orb:

I just wish you could get all the badges through gameplay and not having to buy or trade for others. Forcing the social interaction in this case is just more then the content is worth imo.

I agree. Even though it's not that bad, because you can use the market and don't have to ask in the community who could sell you cards. Soooo... Steam just wants it's 5% share of the selling price on the market, I guess that's what the whole cards thing is about. ;)

I personally don't recommend crafting badges unless you just want the badges. when it comes to value, selling the cards will do you better.

and yeah just idle games. It only took me an hour or so in each game at the main menu to get cards.
