check the bl2 wiki pages they have list of all weapons, that includes which are quest rewards, dropped by specific enemies or dropped in specific locations

hes not special like king mong or midge mong. he becomes 50% of eridium blights bullymong population after you beat tvhm. also yes, as grave has stated, it is a reference to demon.
