Borderlands 2 Won't start

I bought this game about a month ago and it had been working fine until yesterday. I havent played for a few days and when I tried to launch it yesterday, it said "Cannot find game executable to launch. Closing..." When I press OK it then closes. I haven't changed any firewall or windows settings (Win 7) since last time I played and it worked fine. Anyone have an idea whats going on?

Borderlands 2/Properties/LOCAL FILES/VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE should do it.

You need to close steam totally and go to

Computer/Local Disk(C:)/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Binaries/Redist

Reinstall/repair

vcredist_2008_x86
vcredist_x86
vcredist_x86_vs2010sp1

After all this try running cache, works like a charm for me.

I tried verifying the integrity of the cache but it was stuck at 0% for half an hour so I just tried reinstalling the game and everything works fine now, thanks for the comments everyone ^^

Ok, I hope this helps someone as I got the same error and tried EVERYTHING.. I played the game for months no issues and then one day after the Feb 11th patch things went crazy. I cleared Steam, re-installed all secondary programs, deleted, redownloaded and reinstalled Borderlands 2 twice and still had the same error.. This solution also makes no sense why it works, it just did.. After having tried everything and having no luck, I installed the game on my laptop and it started up fine. I played a bit from previous save from the steam cloud, exited out of the game and exited out of steam. Then went to my other PC that was having problems and it started up great. No idea what happened there why or how..
