Are 4 players required to kill Terramorphous?

I've seen a lot of people requesting partners for fighting him, and the mission itself even says you should have a group of 4. Is there any particular reason you need 4 players, or is it just incredibly difficult otherwise?

I managed to inch away Terramorphous's health at half-way to zero in solo. It is possible if you have the right equipment and the right skill tree build.

You can solo it easy in tvm if u have slag and a dp harold or a fire sandhawk in ultimate i dint try to solo it yep but i think it wil be a bit harder because the slag lasts under 1 second or someting so need to kill him with out moslty.

Soloed it couple of times and succeed but it's really time consuming and rather frustrating and the loot isn't that good making it not worth the time going solo. Overall i'll say, still possible, but of course it's more fun going as a group (:

Soloed a 52 lvl Terra with a 48 lvl Krieg yesterday, used a skill tree and item set attached below. Skills have an additional point, numered nerves was 4/5 before the fight but I've levelled upon killing Terra.

It would be definitely possible to do with a lower level Krieg, but the Hellborn tree doesn't work until the lvl difference is down to 4.

On a serious side - 33% -> 0% is certainly possible, 50% -> 0% is not, unless I don't know about something.

Of course it's possible : you just need a lvl 61 character fighting a lvl 52 Terra. :-)

i did it with 3 people and did it solo on other character just takes alot longer and loads of patience

Do you mean that you :
- fought the rocks tentacles (second tentacles attack, after Terra shows up then goes underground and shows up again)
- ran for health and ammo
- killed him
in only 45 seconds ?

Additional question : what were your respective levels ?
