Best build for Assassin?

I am an Assassin and my general play style is being a combat sniper, because I don't enjoy standing at the back of the map while everyone else gets all the loot. I also use deception and I melee quite frequently. Right now, I am mainly advancing in the "Bloodshed" skill tree, and a little bit less on the sniping and cunning ones, but I am still trying to keep it balanced. What would be the best build for my play style?

I use a pistol or a smg in close range and a sniper for long range.Finally i use my kunai in big targets in order to get the slag and extra damage buff.

for a character like Zer0 it is impossible to ask someone else for a good skill build that you will enjoy. There are simply too many possibilities. I hate only sniping builds because lets face it borderlands is not exactly the best for 24/7 snipers sure its good to kill a couple enemies but when there are tonns of enemies you are going to get smashed. I also do not like melee builds either i just dont think they are that great. borderlands is all about guns right? not melee so my personal favourite is a pistol build. it was worked out best for me is this HTTP:/WWW.BL2SKILLS.COM/ASSASSIN.HTML#505051000050505005500550500000
it is a lot like MAK'S Forever alone build (actually i think it may be exactly like his new one)

with zero you have 3 choices 1. melee 2. sniping or 3. pistol/any gun
with melee there is no point specing into his sniping tree as (obviously) in a melee build you will want to max out all your melee skills
with sniping most skills in bloodshed are a bit of a waste
but with a pistol build there are parts of all three trees that are great for fire rate and gun damage so really the only build that would use all 3 trees is the pistol build as really no end tree skill is much of a game changer well death bl00s0m may actually be handy so so you could always take a point out of F0ll0wthr0ugh if wanted

Well as Kiirra said you need to first define how you want to play Zero.If you want mele then you dont need to put points in the Sniping tree as they do not provide any buff for your melee hits.
For example not having the [Many must fall] skill means that after the kunais and 1 melee attack you are gain visible.
I do not know what level your zero is but in the new playthroughs you really get a bitting,you cannot stand in the middle of the battle and take hits.But respeccs are cheap ,you can always try this build,then a pure melee or any other build that works well for you playstyle.

Ok, so I put a bit into sniping and a bit into melee cause I use both. But the main tree I put my skills into was Cunning.

honstly man you will be best off just trying your spec, and if you find a problem with your spec then change it, like if you are not doing enough melee damage then spec more into melee or even choose better weapons for example a law and order combo or a melee shield and a good melee weapon.
if you find you are using guns more then try specing into gun talents

in the end only you can make the perfect spec for you

I am mainly speced in gun talents, and also melee but not as much. As shields and guns go I have a pretty good Roid Shield and decent guns

honestly i found that a better shield / class mod combo for Zero is to use a survivor class mod with a turtle shield. from the turtle shields you get a lot of shield capacity but at the cost of some health. the way to fix the downside of it is to get a survivor class mod, (gives a health boost and constantly regens health after taking damage). i found this strategy to be very useful against bloodwing and wilhelm alike

this should work well at lvl 61
i would recommend using a hunter com, an eviseration grog/rubi and some good sniders or pimps
But really making a build that refelects your play style is the most important. If you enjoy sniping, I wouldn't wanna respec just because my friends were taking all the loot, in the end you should play the game as its most enjoyable to you
