Hunter's Grotto advice wanted

Currently playing Hamerlock's campaign with three other friends - as 4-player co-op. Each of us are different Vault Hunters: Salvador, Axton, Maya and Zer0. We're also on True Vault Hunter mode and we're all Lv 41.

It's a cool campaign but we have a problem with some enemies, namely the Giant Spores, Badass Savages and Witchdoctors. We've found that all of them have absurd amounts of health (especially the badass savages) and it can often take around five minutes to kill one of them, even when wailing damage at them non-stop.

Is this intentional or are we doing something wrong? We don't have legendary loot but we can kill most other monsters quite quickly. To make matters worse, some Witchdoctors sap your health to regain theirs, and on three instances we had to abandon the fight because there was just no way to deal damage faster than it could regain it.

well it depends first try using slag weapons then shoot with corrosive bullets. if that doesnt work then u might have to be a higher level cause im level 61 and i kill them in a few shots?? also try countering witch docters by using their oposite elemant (u can look them up) and if you want i can help by giving u guys some pearlecsents just add me and say ur levels and i can drop u guys some. + rep my profile and have a nice day dude 4/20/2013 SWFlash

Kill the witch doctors first. They can level the savages up and heal them. Slag enemies first so you can deal more damage. Fire elemental weapons are the choice against most of them.

Yes this is normal as you are on tvhm, pro tip: try and kill the witchdoctors first with a strong sniper or a high aim smg from far away then the others cant mutate and gain a higher level :), try and use slag aswell.
