Varkid Ranch Observatory

I can't get inside the observatory, I found the opening at the top and I see the fuse box but I cant shoot it with anything, the bullets just ricochet away no matter what angle I try, and if I try using a grenade it gets stuck in the opening, very anoying, and I cant find anything on this on the net no matter how I try to search for it, anyone else have this issue?

Go up to the roof and look through the window. You'll see the power switch down by the stairwell, and just shoot it. Try a different angle if you're having trouble but that's the way to do it.There are about five dudes who spawn inside and a nice chest to loot. That's about it.

Im on the roof trying to shoot it right on the vault hunter symbol, but for some reason its just not working, any gun I try, or angle, you just see the bullets go part way into the room and ricochet away, its very strange

well I finally got a shotgun to work, that was frustrating!

NON-ELEMENTAL sniper rifle worked every time for me.

That must have been the problem, all my weapons were elemental
