As for the glitch...I seem to have run into more of those in Lynchwood than anywhere else. Which isn't that much I admit, just something I noticed. For one thing, I died walking out the door of the train station. No shots, no baddies, just died. The train was traveling right below me at the time, so I figure some code is wacked somewhere such that I was standing in a place incorrectly designated as a 'gets run over' zone. You know where those two ammo chests are right on the inside of the doorway? I had just opened those and was starting to walk out when the train rode through and I died. Wierd.
One bug that worked in my favor was when I killed Dukino's mother, she dropped her loot (including a really nice rocket launcher), but the mission did not register. So I was actually able to reload and kill her again and get more loot (no launcher this time). :)
Next was the annoying time that the Dukino (is that his name?), was standing on the tracks just as I put the skag tongues down for him to eat. Train hit him before he could get up to eat them. He disappeared, food was on the ground, and I had to reload. Not really a bug, but an annoying circumstance.
Anyways, thanks for the help, letting me know that the Deputy and the Marshals are not supposed to become your friends. Which is too bad, good potential for more missions if they did. Clean up the town type stuff. Oh well.
As for the Sherrif's Badge, well I got the Deputy's Badge, which gives a little bonus to shotty attacks, but mostly I still wear Moxi's Endowment which adds +5.1% to experience gained. I'll try for the Sherrif's Badge to see what it does. Thanks for the heads up!
The train glitch is well known. We've all been "run over" while standing over it. I've even been hit while sniping on the roof. Just take note of where you are when you hear the horn and get away from the track.
