FYI the game exe has been optimized to use more than 2.5 gb of memory even tho its 32 bit.
That sounds like a downgrade to me.
Then I'm doing the impossible then cause I'm playing it on win7 64 bit with 8GB of ram. LOL.
You can run Pacman on a 64 bit system. The Unreal 3 engine has always been a DX9 platform. It wasn't until March of 2011 that DX11 was implemented. Borderlands 1-2 do not need the features of DX11 since there is no bump mapping, tesselation, ect. The art style is old school which is why it works just fine with DX9.

there is neither a dx10 (or 11) nor a 64 bit version of bl2. dward2661, bubbacho are both correct.
also - bl2 can be run on a 64 bit system. 64 bit systems can and do run 32 bit programs. my own system is win 7 64 bit and, frankly, i only have 2 or 3 progs that are actually native 64 bit. everything else is 32 bit.
Not sure what your source is for that, because I had to self-patch the .exe to make it aware of the additional RAM my system has. Otherwise, the game crashes in Opportunity with PhysX on.
Here's the thread I first heard about that from:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/49520/discussions/0/864979455459953873/
The problem that 32 bit users may run into is that BL2 is often not the only program running. With a 64 bit system users can add extra RAM to accommodate the extra programs so they can all fit into the RAM without paging in and out, which can cause stuttering.
In conclusion gamers, always go with 64 bit unless you have some archaic programs that REQUIRE a 32 bit system. There are some out there.
