Is the story any good in this game? Need advice :)
Hi all

With the new sales i'm considering the GOTY edition of this game but I would like to ask people who have already own this game: Is there any story to this game? From what I read from BL1, most people are stating that there is no story in the first one. But how about this one? Are the side quests and the DLC quests any fun? I play RPG's which have some good story or at least good dialogues in it, so would you recommend this?

Thanks :)

EDIT: don't want a fanboy's point of view xD

imo, side quests are much much better than story line.

ok thank you. But is there some kind of story in this game? I like fun combat but don't want to play a game just for the combat.
And are the side quests longer than the main quests?

Quite good. I had it spoiled for me by my desire to watch a walkthrough on le Youtubz, but if you haven't played it, I highly recommend it. Very fun and very immersive, the story is a big issue, but you can just as easily ignore it (however, to get the side missions, you do have to play through it. It's also the fastest way to level up.) The story itself is quite good, incluing lots of funny and weird characters.

As long as the side stories have some kind of mini story and good dialogues then I'm happy
ok thank you :) And does it matter if you didn't have played the first one?

While the first game did not have much of a story, this one does. After beating the game so many times I kinda ignore it now, but the first time through I thought it was very enjoyable. The game is also a very good length. For a first time 100% playthrough, the game should last you a good 40-45 hrs. While the game is best played with friends, many of the 330 hrs. I have in the game have been spent solo.

Edit: 40-45hrs for the base game, not including DLC.

I havent played the first one, but it doesn't really matter. They are sparsley interconnected at best.

The actual story line I don't think is that good(really straight forward plot wise) but what is good are the characters. Handsom Jack is a great villain because you just love to hate him. Tiny Tina is funny as hell. The original Vault hunters actually get a personality in this game.

DLC wise, honestly, the only one I think is absolutely worth it is Tiny Tina's Assualt on Dragon Keep. The other DLC just feels too samey to the main game for me. However, you may want to pick up Torgue because he is a pretty great character.

The only reason to pick up the other two imo is for the few exclusive pieces of gear, but if you don't care about min maxing, I'd skip it.

True bro, still I don't want some mindless shooting game. At least the dialogues should be fun ;)
