What is Zero?

Is he an alien or an android or what? He only has 4 finger so he's not human.

zero is an android created by hyperion but he was repair by clap-trap

I think hes a Cyborg, mostly machine that was designed by hyperion as a prototype and he decided to fight his creators for what they did to him.. but he bleeds so its either fluid that looks like blood or blood, i do think hes part Alien not human.

His name is Zero = First / Prototype
He has inhuman characteristics like hands and body shape is very thin and large (watch the intro when he stands behind the others).

I think Zer0 is a Human/Eridan Hybrid.
Created a long time ago, for some unknown purpose and frozen in cryostasis,. Now he woke up, with little memory of who/what he is but knowing Pandora may hold his answers.
His skills learned and or programed, allow him to be a assassin/mercenary. Zer0 made his way to Pandora, working as a assassin/mercenary; to pay the cost of traveling and to cover the basics, food/water ect...
His way of speaking, Haiku, show that he can't speak/understand English well or that Haiku is the way he learned to speak. Or Zer0 knows speaking in Haiku unnerves people and makes him scarey.

I believe he's Eridian. He even calls the Vault his "masterpiece" although that could refer to the challenge he was taking.
