Knuckle Dragger - Can't get Legendary drop??
I have killed him dozens of times between yesterday and today and still nothing. I wanted to get a Hornet, but at this rate it's crazy.

Is there any issue going on with this Boss or just my bad Luck?

I am in UVHM and have leveled almost 2 times just killing this guy without results and made 2.5mill in te process.

I must be close to 100 kills by now.

Sometimes it just goes like that. The first time I tried to get a Hornet in UVHM was at level 56. I got one on the first kill, which was great, but I also knew that I had probably just gotten very lucky, so I decided to keep going to see how long it took to get another one. It was about 50 more kills before I got a second one.

Of course you also have to make sure to look around carefully, to try to make sure that you don't miss it when one does finally drop.

I assume that you're farming KD from the exit to Southern Shelf, and not from Claptrap's place.

Just bad rng
The best way to get the better loot (e.g legendaries) is to have 3 other friends helping so the chance of gettting a loot drop is increased and should (in theory) get he wanted weapon more often.

I don't think the number of players has much, if any, effect on designated drops, like getting a Hornet from KD.

Don't go around spreading false information
This is a quote from the gearbox
'Now for a quick aside based on some information hidden in that List definition image. You know that cryptic tooltip you get when loading a map about how the more players you have the better your loot? What this tip actually means is a question I have heard multiple times from fans and now is a great time to shed some light on it. The number of players in the game has an impact on the amount of loot that you receive while playing Borderlands. In a multiplayer game there are some values in the game that change based on the player count.'
so technically not 'false information'

But the specific topic here is getting a Hornet from KD, and I don't think the number of players has any effect on that.

Hi thanks for all the replies.

I guess I'll just have to keep at it, at least I know it's nothing wrong with the game.

Happy holidays! :D

Kill him 100 times, then come to the community. It is a legedndary gun of course it is going to take forever to get. I farmed for the emperor over 300 times, although I got it I knew it was going to drop sometime. Keep on fighting.
technically, because he is a single mob, he will drop less loot the more players there are according to the same gbx article linked above:-

"In order to solve the problem we actually made the chances of loot dropping from any individual enemy go down the more players you have."

but to answer the OP, yeah just bad luck with the rng that's all. just keep at it, and eventually it will drop.

So, it sounds like the drop rate is reduced, but having more players still nets an increase in drops overall, which may prove to be better than what you'd get playing solo. That sound about right?

I used to wonder about the #'s and odds. Now after a few hundred hours of play ( and farming ), I've decided it's all just sh*t luck one way or another.

I guess, but, again, I think that's just general loot. You get more loot, so you may be more likely to get a good random drop. But that may not have any effect on designated drops.
