If you're checking the dice chests, the first thing is to _not_ pay the Eridium to roll two dice. You're only hurting yourself doing that, and paying 5E a pop to do it. :-) You need to roll a 2 or a 3 -- A roll that would produce white loot. Then, there is a fairly small chance that one of the heads or skins could replace one of the white items. If you roll both dice, you greatly decrease your chance to end up with a 2 or 3.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of a dice chest that is really close to a load point, and easy to get to. It's been a while, but I think there's one at the end of Lair of Infinite Agony, but I think you have to beat the Sorcerer's Daughter before that one can be opened. If you're a high enough level to handle her quickly, that might be an option.
Honestly, The Winged Storm is your best bet, just because of the sheer number of chests. The odds of getting a head or skin seem pretty low, so the more chests you can open, the better. Of course you have to be able to beat the dragons first, but once your level is far enough above theirs, that's easy. If you're not there yet, your best bet might be to wait and come back when you can handle them easily.
2- Damn, i've been rolling two dice, my Eridium wallet hurts.
3- My mechomancer is lvl 40 (good weapons from the Sanctuary Stash // no anarchy tree -> Completed BFF tree and some on LBT) and already finished the Tiny Tina's Assault DLC. I only need to kill the Dragons Raid boss , but those still a pain in my ass, I get rekt by those easily and even with my Rocketlauncher that does 60k base dmg, I just could stay alive with their HP bar on 60% (using also the defense rune)
(All for just 2 skins.. omg hahaha , meanwhile others seek OP weapons)
FWIW, you get around 80 Eridium every time you kill the dragons, so, when you're ready for them, they're the best way to refill that "Eridium wallet". :-) And, once you've beaten them and turned in the mission, you can go back, pay the 20E to get back in, and then after you beat them (and check the chests), you can exit to the menu and reload, and fight them again, without having to pay the 20E to get back in.
I can understand the desire to get a head or skin now, but even if you could handle the dragons now, it could be a while before you actually got a head or skin, and then there's a good chance that it could be for another character. So it's probably not going to happen soon, IAC. With that in mind, maybe just put the head search on hold and come back when you've leveled up a bit more.
Or try the In-Game Trading sub-forum and see if someone can just give you one. If so, that would certainly be faster. :-)
I tried these ones on the gearbox web and succesfully redeemed:

but this one, (the one that holds the Wayfarer Wizard and other cool head skins) , yeah.. It says me it has been already redeemed (possibly I put that code when I was gettin' all the codes from the pinned codes post here) but yet, it didn't gave any single tiny new pixel.

To be clear, I have Borderlands 2 GOTY + Mechromancer Supremacy Pack + Creature Slaughterdome.
Also, i've redeemed other skins/class mods/ lotsa keys / with no drama. It's just, THAT witch hat.
It seems that the game wants me to put down those dragons a bunch of times, and yes, i know how the rate on BO2 works (at least it's not like playing Lineage II drop x1 to get a mat / farming 8 hours for it)
Thank you Waste of Skin.. ( O.o dat name) for the reply and tips, gonna level up to 45 and try again those Dragons. I didn't know about the 80 eridium drop, that's ... well... Ya-hoo Tiny Tina's Slotmachines here I come!. D:
The codes are supposed to put the head and skin items in the inventory of the next character you load. If you have multiple characters, it's possible that the missing items are just sitting in the inventory of some other character.
If you happened to make a character save file read-only for some reason (eg. to farm a mission reward), and then loaded that character immediately after entering the code(s), the items could not be saved with the character and, if you didn't use them right away, they would just disappear when you exited to the menu. I'm speaking from experience there. I entered all of those Tina head/skin codes at the same time, then loaded a character to farm a mission reward. I realized some time later that I didn't have any of the heads/skins (which is why I've paid so much attention to how often they show up in the chests :-). I've opened hundreds of dice chests since then, and haven't got all of them yet.
Also I .. O.o whut? Farm mission reward? ... Didn't think on that one but that's a nice tip btw.
Still, as I told before, I did mostly all the codes that are here on the pinned thread , all in the same exact moment, practically i got everything except THOSE items. So, either it bugged out and didn't gave me nothing but it believes that my profile indeed got it OR Gearbox said to me: "The moral is:you're a total ♥♥♥♥♥", so GG, go ahead and farm dragons ='( haha. Or the codes don't work anymore (Gonna test with a friend that bought the game yesterday)
As for farming mission rewards, there are at least a couple of ways you can do it. I prefer the read-only method.
Complete a mission and go to the place where you turn it in.
Exit the game and make the save file read-only, so that the game can't record it when you turn in the mission.
Restart the game, load the character and turn in the mission.
If you get something that you want to keep, put it in the Stash (and if the Stash gets full, have another character take stuff out of it).
Exit to the menu, select the character again and reload, and turn in the mission again. You have to select the character again, to get the game to re-read the character data from the save file. If you just use Continue, the game remembers that you already turned in the mission.
When you're done, exit the game and remove the read-only flag. As long as the file is read-only, no new character data (completed missions, challenge progress, etc.) can be saved for that character.
Ehmm buddy, I got the skins but the hard way, I tried days non-stop farming til they drop.
i used this code to get gaige's head... it worked last week or so... hope it helps
