Moonshot is the thing that blows up The Warrior after you kill it. The farming trick is to Alt F4 after the shot but before the game saves, to try again with the high legendary odds until you get a desired drop.

Wait I've watched a video involving backing up my saves? why do I have to do that?

I assume backing up your saves is either a failsafe, incase you mess up, or an alternate method.

Either way, Moonshot Farming revolves around how the Moonshot kill on The Warrior has a high Legendary drop rate, checking for Legendary loot after said Moonshot, and either forcing the game to close without saving(Alt F4) or restoring a save set before the kill(backups) in order to go through the Moonshot bit several times to get your desired result.

Because you only get to do the moonshot once per playthrough. When you are doing the "Talon of God" mission, you beat Jack, and then beat the Warrior, and then use the moonshot to finish it. After you complete that mission, you can go back and fight the Warrior as many times as you want, but then there is no moonshot. You just shoot the Warrior until it's dead. But the odds of it dropping one of its designated drops seem to be much lower after the mission, so ***insert what ShinkuTear said here***. :-)

It's not high, its 100% garunteed chance...just to clarify

Correction: After you've defeated the Warrior during "The Talon Of God" mission, there is a console next to where the Warrior will lay. You should be facing the direction where from a distance the Hyperion,'s artificial sunlight/moon is at sight. Appeoach the console and call in a Moonshot, which should finish off the Warrior.

Not get the Moonshot, but calling in or signaling a Moonshot.

Backing up your saves is as simple as Copy and Paste. In my case, 7zip, rename and move backup.

Actually, it isn't 100% chance. The only 100% Legendary in the game is Slayer of Terramorphous from Terramorphous.

If you can prove otherwise, fine, but I want to see that proof first :/

Wouldn't killing the game before it saves mean that any legendaries you pick up would disappear from your inventory? Which means the only reason for using this technique would be to try for a specific item rather than getting several of them?

Yep. You use Alt-F4 to kill the game and try again, until you get the specific item that you want (it works the same if you're farming a mission reward).

If you're looking for multiple items, you can use the "backup" method that others mentioned. Make a backup copy of your save file, then call the moonshot (or turn in a mission), and if you get something that you want, put it in the Stash. Then exit the game (or Alt-Tab) and replace the save file with the backup copy, re-select the character, and you can do it again.

Personally, I make the save file read-only. Then the game can't save the fact that I called the moonshot (or turned in a mission). Call the moonshot (or turn in a mission), and if you get something that you want, put it in the Stash. Then exit to the menu and re-select the character (to get the game to re-read the save file), and when you load them, you'll be back where you were before. You just have to remember to remove the read-only flag when you're done, so that the character can be saved again.

NICE. Time to do my third playthrough then
