mania tree all the way, that way you can use release the beast for a quick heal and lots of melee damage. Then go for bloodlust for the other melee buffs.

This is my skill tree at lvl 53 (it destroys hyperius easily)

maybe swap out redeem the soul, and go straight for release the beast for normal enemies.

And as i said on the other (deleted?) thread, get the Law and Order combo from the missions in sanctuary (Won't Get Fooled Again and BFFs), together they work nicely for melee until you can find better gear. Get rubi from moxxi for healing and melee bonuses. Also scream sickle class mod works quite well on melee krieg. As for relic, a strength relic will be good. also, if you have the Pirate Booty dlc, you can get a rapier from Message in a bottle in Hayter's Folly. There is a downside to the rapier tho, as you take increased melee damage when you wield it.

Hellborn is good, even in UVHM you are basically invincible, only downside is if there isnt any enemies that can be lit on fire, you still do crazy damage/heal yourself though

Need a hellfire or other fire weapon and flame of firehawk shield to really see the ownage that ic capable with a hellborn build

If you are Melee, Love Thumper is basically the best shield in the game for you. For Relics... maybe Health, damage resist, or elemental damage(fire/explosive). Anything *but* Shield stuff when Melee.

Other than love thumper? I have golden keys and always get some purple shields with melee or when shields are depleted they release elemntal damage.

Other then Love Thumper? Hmm... Not sure. I don't think there are any other shields that have as good of a Delay. Love Thumper has the second best Roid Damage in the game, beaten only by the Hide of Terramorphous. But Love Thumper has infinitely superior Recharge Delay, about 4 to 5 minutes, compared to the 4 or 5 seconds of a Hide of Terramorphous.

The gold chest only gives purple gear and blue/purple relics.

For Hellborn the Flame of the Firehawk shield is the best, since many abilities are boosted by having your shield depleted and the Firehawk shields sbility of endless fire novas when fully deplted make it the best for Hellborn. You will get healed from the damage and the novas do huge damage

for hellborn you will need a up to level fotf shield witch requires gibbing it up every few levels

for melee you'll do far more damage with the bxb and fuel the blood skils than with roid shield
