Saving and loading...
Hello,

When I play a mission and in the middle I pass the save location (and see the save icon), and then I quit (save and quit), when I re load the game after a few hours for some reason I find myself at the 1st town and not in my last saved location...
Do I really need to walk and replay an hour to reach that location again?!
Why won't it load that location? why can't I seems to see it on the map or at the quick travel (or I don't even know the specific name of that location).

My level and my weapons are fine, it's just the location is way too far.

I am playing the main story mission "best minion ever" at a place some time after I helped that robot "climb the stairs: with a lift (I ascend"! he said).

When you reload a save you typically spawn at the Fast Travel station or at the entrance of an area. The smaller towers (New-U stations) are checkpoints where your character respawns if you die.

So how can I travel to that point again?
Why it said it's saved my game if I need to waste 1 hour all over again to reach that point again?
How can I know which mission is on fast travel (where to fast travel too?) - because it points me back to base, which is far far away.

You can only travel to fast travel stations which do not have the 'u-turn not permitted' symbol being displayed above it. There are a few of these in the game where you can travel to other places from it, but you cannot travel TO it.

In a way it helps the game from being like games such as skyrim, where you can just fast travel to almost anywhere you have been, but in this, it gives you more replayability when you need to go back to that area to do another mission or farm some rare items.

In short, you cannot fast travel to that location unfortunatly.

there are 3 types of new-U stations:
the small ones. these only save your game progress (such as weapons, XP and mission objective progress) and will respawn you when you die.

the large one with holograms and can be interacted with, are the fast travel stations. like the small one, they will respawn you when you die, but they also let you "fast travel" to other fast travel stations you have discovered. aditionally, when you quit the game and then later start it again, you respawn at the last fast travel station you have come in contact with.

however, if you enter an area and you have not yet found a fast travel station and then quit the game, you will spawn at the antrance again when you restart.

finally, there are the broken stations. like [toto] Akari said, you can not travel to these, but they let you respawn, spawn when re loading the game and fast travel to other functional fast travel stations. however, you can NOT travel to these stations from other fast travel stations.

hope this clarifies your questions about spawning and new-U stations. sorry for the long read (not really).

Once you start getting decent at the game, there will be absolutely no distances which will take you so very long to get to. Most will be more reasonably around five minutes apart, meaning it would only take about that long to "catch back up" if you decide to quit the game.

Once you reach Sanctuary, over half your game-quiting will be in that central hub. Most people reach that point in the game within an hour on thier second playthrough. It does take longer the first time though because you're still learning the ins and outs of the game. Sort of like the first time you visit a new city, you won't know the best, most direct with least amount of traffic, route to every location. But once you've traversed the place a bit, those trips that used to take an hour you'll find yourself flying to in minutes.

Also think of this, you're reached a point you cannot pass. You've died thirty times and nothing you have can get you through. Would you rather log out of the game in frustration, only to log back in at the exact same point you cannot escape? Or would you rather log back in at a safe haven so you can go find better gear, possibly a friendlier route, something more entertaining to do so you can gain some more experience, etc..?
