Enemy level scaling on UVHM makes the game too easy.
Since enemies rarely get over 2 levels ahead of you, so it's not possible to be underleveled, like it happens on the easier modes. It also makes it so you can simply rush through areas that you consider difficult, since enemies will stay at your level, and there's no incentive to fight them all just to prevent going underleveled.

I know there are OP levels, but still, it would've been nice to be able to play the story on UVHM at whatever difficulty you like the most, instead of being forced to do a full run where you'll never find a single strong enemy.

Kinda the opposite for me, I was always over leveled on my first 2 play throughs, so having enemies scale to my level is a nice change if pace. Maybe the weapon damage just scales up too fast because when I started uvhm it was sure hard, but after getting some good purple weapons I just blow enemies away like its still on tvhm

OP levels indeed do what you are looking for. OP8 reduce damage output by 55% due to fighting L80s and has same modifyer for inc hits. Even if you use high-end weaponry in OP going up means going down.

Go for Rabid skags and UVH->Op transition will be fast and clean. This isindeed third XP grind-fest but after that (and some dire Digistruct peaks arena fighting) you'll get yorself challenging playthrough possibility.

And DP arena can give you more punishment you ever dreamed of so if you'r looking for stronger mobs thats one place to look at;)

Complaining about UVHM being too easy... Thats a first XD. Ya OP 8 will ♥♥♥♥ you up...

Thatks for the advice, Zvero. Yeah, I think OP 5-8 will be similar to my comfort zone.

I'm still some 8 levels away from getting to OP, and didn't feel like playing anymore, so I started a new character, but I'll play with that first character a bit everyday until I eventually get there.

@SOVIET: I don't think it's a first; just a couple hours ago I was looking for online games with my new character, and there was a level 35 doing the Talon of God. That's like over 10 levels behind.

And I only say it's easy because I got used to being way underleveled on Normal, and mostly on TVHM, so having enemies no higher than 2 levels above me on UVHM was kind of a difficulty nerf for me, but I can see it being the other way around if you are used to being stronger than the enemies, as Penguin mentioned.

Depends. Were they actually on TVHM, or just Normal Mode? Odds are anyone doing Talon at level 35 is actually in Normal Mode and over-leveled.

Oh, hah. That makes a lot more sense, yeah. i tought the matchmaking thingy would only show games of the same difficulty as your character's save file.

I don't play m-p, but my impression is that the matchmaking is based on the character level, not the playthrough.
You can download a difficulty slider that makes the game more challenging (Its basically the same as having 1-3 other players to increase the difficulty of enemies)

Good point about the slider. I hadn't thought of that, but if someone wants to make the game harder, that's an option.

And it should make-up loot a bit. Sounds nice.

That looks pretty nice. Will give it a try.
Thanks. :claptrap:
Why don't you look at it the other way around with the fact that level scaling prevents your from outleveling your opponents? Besides, enemies rarely outleveled you in regular and TVHM modes anyway

Excluding my very first run -normal difficulty with my first character-, I have never outleveled the enemies, so that's not really an issue for me. I'm usually underleveled. Way underleveled:

So yeah, after doing that, and excluding a couple areas which caused me a bit of trouble, UVHM feels really lacking on the difficulty department. Good thing I'm just one level away from starting Digistruct Peak.

I still think that allowing players to buff or nerf themselves as we see fit is better design than forcing level scaling.

Glad to see someone who doesn't think this game is too hard.

Getting to OP8 can be a long grind (especially if you play solo and don't use save editors), but in my opinion, it's worth it. The game is rather dull before the OP levels. :bandit:
