The mechromancer is great fun to play. Just don't expect to play as a sniper with added badass robot - sniping isn't something she does that well, because the Anarchy stacks often mean sniping = ammo wasting.
Not easy to suggest a build though. What works for you will depend on your gamestyle. It is quite possiblt to use DT as a distraction - enemies will focus on him, while you pick them off from a distance.
There are some very good guides to the mechromancer builds in the Borderlands 2 guides section.
I mostly play solo, and got my mech to OP4 solo. After that you really need friends to help :)
Taking anything other than Smaller Lighter Faster from the Ordered Chaos tree however makes sniping a bit pesky, thanks to Anarchy being a mandatory Tier 1 skill if you wanna get to further tiers.
I would not recommend The Stare or One Two Boom, they're horribly buggy skills.
For solo play Buck Up is fine, though I personally don't like the skill (again, it's buggy from my experience)
For a pretty decent deathtrap, while boosting your damage and survival, I'd go with this myself.
Try to use guns with fixed firing patterns. Some examples are Omen, Twister, Unkempt Harold, Infinity, Heart Breaker, and many more. Guns that fire extra bullets for 1 ammo count are nice as well, such as the Kitten (wors quite well with Close Enough or so I've heard). This helps negate a bit of the accuracy loss from anarchy. Close Enough also really helps as well, giving your shots a 50% chance to ricochet to nearby enemies (and the shots will actually fly at enemies).
If you can, get a legendary catalyst mod, as that's going to offer significant damage bonuses. It also helps if you focus on shock weapons. I'd keep a corrosive weapon and slag as well though, to shoot deathtrap with to elementize him and make him do extra damage of that element. You don't need a fire weapon really, because shock does full damage to almost everything.
Get a shock element Bone of the Ancients, for extra shock damage, and faster cooldown on deathtrap.
Chain Lightning is a good grenade for... everything. Stripping shields, taking down targets under cover, flying targets, or quick healign with a Rubi.
anarchy when it stacks up makes you miss a lot but do crazy dmg. close enough makes most of your misses hit. its also good at really close range with a big shotgun, say. sorta almost melee firepower - which you may be used to as zero.
Discord does 3 things for you
1) if you accidently reload at the wrong time, you can use discord + reload again to keep most of your stacks
2) you regenerate and have good accuracy while using discord
3) discord is also not shabbty if you get killed, loose your anarcy stacks, and then get just a handful , you can use that small handful w discord to get some partial boosts.
after that, you can put lots of clicks into making your robot powerful. works for me anyways.
Fair warning my gaige is only lvl 50, so i can't say if its works at lv 72 op 8 or anything
