for me it was stupid humor and exploring the game's mechanics. after learnirng how "random" weapon system works, and playing a long time i got to find the best build and beast gear for each class for me. and thats how i spent 380hours in game. and damn it was fun.
Farming? With how easy the first game was I went through it without any need for that.
The second game starts to annoy me as the new siren's skill is so pathethic that I do not think I will have enough patiance to finish the game with her. Other characters I like even less.
The story? I finished the first game by a pure accident. There was this minor boss which I killed and BAM! You won. I seriously did not expect that it would be that easy. I did not even got any cool stuff from that guy! No challange whatsoever.
The second game is more 'this is annoying' kind of thing rather than 'what a challange'. When you literally cannot die, the challange is simply based on how much patiance you have to kill the enemy in front of you.
Nice to search and always get better gear. Very happy to find weapons, guns, grenades, shields ecc there is a lot and many combinations to try. Many different enemies and many maps.
Variety is great. Vehicles are great, specially in some DLCs. I think the creators used a lot of fantasy and gameplay got to a very high level.
Multiplayer works very well adding friends. "One of" top games ever I think.
What's not to love?
oh noes i inserted a dll in a game.
cry about it hahahha
it seemed like it to me at first, but i guess the story hooked me enough to complete the game. for me fun began at UVHM. it really is not a game for everybody, some find the magic, others do not.
It's not a shooter but loot hoarding RPG in the form of a shooter. You may or may not like this. I'm hooked though. It's more closer to Diablo/Torchlight than it is to CoD/Battlefield. Also you could say it's Fallout 3/NV in a much more arcady version.
Whacky and some funny characters, and in the case of BL2, diverse landscape and engaging story help as well.
