The "meta" character for Solo UVHM
I'm planning on doing a Solo play-through, I did one a few months back however a few things got in the way and had to put my play-through on hold.

This is going to be a hard thing to do for me, so I want what people consider the "meta" character to tackle such a task.

So far online I've seen three choices
Gaige
Maya
and Salvador

I don't really wanna be Zero if he is also considered "meta". (I've seen the 10 second kill on that one boss.)

if specced right and with certain specific gear salvador is a beast in uvhm can solo every raid boss with ease, siren is pretty good as well but needs ruin and converge and has more problems with raid bosses, gaige needs an anarchy build and can have problems with raid bosses as well but all are well equipped to handle mobs solo

Oh yeah I know all of them if build right can handle UVHM I'm just wondering which is the most picked or "easiest". So Salvador alright then I'll think about him. (waiting for more comments till I make my final pick.)

I've not played either the psycho or mechromancer, but I have played the other 4 and would say Sal is the beastiest. Remember, in UVHM slag is very important, he can hold a rubi or grog nozzle in one hand and wreck face with his off-hand weapon (usually the DPUH). Tactically he is probably the least challenging or interesting. But if you want to kill everything in your path, Sal is your guy!

I mostly play solo, and have taken three characters to the OP levels so far - Siren, Mechromancer and most recently the Commando. All are quite capable of completing UVHM solo, and then on to the OP levels. I got my mech to OP4 solo, and then went as part of a team effort to get to OP8. I got my commando to OP2 solo yesterday. My siren was the first to the OP levels and went through them as part of a team, and at the start did not have much of a clue how the whole OP level thing worked.

Of the three, I play Gaige for fun and I have had the most success with her at farming, and with a decent build is capable of huge damage due to the Anarchy bonus. Maya is a bit more challenging, and can be a bit of hard work in the OP levels. Axton can be, but I think it is down to the weaponry you find.

Not played any of the other characters in UVHM yet.

Which you choose depends on what you want from the game. Salvador is the most all round damaging if you want to go through it all, guns blazing. The others need a bit more thought about the way they do things.

I've taken a mechromancer, an assassin, and a siren through that. Gaige was pretty fun, although I got a bit frustrated with the whole anarchy building thing, but she's definitely able to solo UVHM. That said, I found Maya way more powerful for solo play.

Now... I haven't played the gunzerker, but I've seen enough to tell you that it's op as ♥♥♥♥.

Or you could play whichever you find the most fun and not be a wh0re

Alright I'm stuck between the two Salvador or Maya. I want to solo UVHM but I want it to be fun but interesting.

How fast does the Salvador effect happen? by that I mean...I've heard many times Salvador is a very powerful SOLO character able to take on bosses with a breeze. The thing I hear most though is the whole appeal to him wears out fast , that's what I'm worried about picking him.

Maya does look fun to play as however I don't know how well she does through solo or against raid bosses.

The reason why Salvador is so boring is because he has one playstyle that's very simple: Gunzerk, hold down both mouse buttons, and aim in the general direction of enemies. He's perfect for mowing down enemies but he gets very stale after a while.

After when lol :P once you beat Captain Flint or later then that? I love powerful characters it's just...for me to get to UVHM I need to finish the game a couple of times , that's just a large amount of hours to put into one character.

Honestly Salvador is one of the hardest character to start a fresh game with. He really shines with a full build and skills but has a hard time when you first start out. I have an OP8 Sal but I gibbed him in because trying to level him up wasn't worth it. People play Sal for the end-game.

On the other hand, Maya is one of the easiest to start a fresh game with because of her crowd control and healing. She's perfectly balanced for Normal and TVHM along with Axton. Sure the damage doesn't compare to Salvador but her mobbing skills are one of the best in the game.

Alright on the Maya topic, Does she at any point get a bit stale? is she a challenge? I don't mind her damage kinda lacking compared to Salvador's that makes things fun. It causes me to think a bit more during raid bosses. Salvador has the problem with being more of a end-game character, how well does Maya become end-game if built right? is she the kind of character that's able to stay interesting?

Although Maya is one of the best mobbers, she really falls off against raid bosses because they can't be phaselocked. She definitely doesn't get stale, she's my second favorite character after Zer0. Her combination of crowd control and healing really makes her a unique character, so I don't think you'll get bored of her.

Also, her phaselock-ability lets her deal with the helicopters very easy. She can literally grab them out of the sky. Her playstyle in my opinion is the most affected by mods, like the Nurse or the Legendary Siren. With Maya you have to be constantly on the move, so build up those kiting-skills. Look for abilities that prolong the duration of her pahaselock as it becomes possible to apply slag with it in an AOE fashion while almost chaining phaselocks together back to back. I think that Maya is the most rewarding to play as she really can become OP without relying on cookie-cutter stuff.
