From a page : To spawn Dexiduous, players must insert 90-99 Eridium into 4 totems scattered around Hunter's Grotto.
In order to spawn Dexiduous the Invincible, four totems around Hunter's Grotto have to be activated using 21-27 Eridium each. Once all are activated, a final lever has to be pulled in order to actually spawn him. If players leave Hunter's Grotto after activating any of the totems, the totems will reset and the players will need to start again.
So yeah, you kinda lost them once you put eridium into furnace.
SUPER SUCKING MAP !
I lost 50 Eridium just like that.... of course I exited map when it was dinner time...I didn't care and didn't know....crap !
But tell me...is that boss spawning something I can take before level 40 or I need to be stronger ? Also, is it worth it ? Can I finish game without this Eridium eater boss or it's a must ?
Thanks.... :-(
Super badass drifter basically. Even more so than another boss in the map called Arizona. Not taken Dexiwhatshisface on yet. I will do when I can join a group so it will only cost E25 each.
If you haven't already, read the Wiki page that someone else posted a link to.
Of course you can finish the game without summoning Dexi, unless you don't consider the game "finished" until you've fought (or at least seen) every boss at least once. If you just want to see him at least once in your game, you could always summon him at a lower level (eg. in Normal Mode) using a higher level character. You don't even have to play the DLC first. You can summon him as soon as you get to Hunter's Grotto.
If you're going to try fighting him at around your level, you should definitely check out the Wiki page, or maybe videos (I'm sure there are some out there), because he _is_ really tough. He seems to take very little damage unless you hit his critical hit spots, and he's fast (just because he's so big), so fighting him on foot is probably not a good idea, unless you can find some good cover. And, according to the Wiki, he has around 13.5 billion health in TVHM. :-) I assume that's at level 50. I have no idea how much health he has in UVHM.
Also, once you summon him, you'll have to kill a bunch of savages and Witch Doctors before he'll actually show up.
As for whether or not he's worth it, he doesn't drop much Eridium, so you're not going to get back what it cost to summon him. He'll drop some random gear, and he has a chance to drop a Seraph gun and the Chopper AR. The Chopper is interesting (FWIW, it's pretty similar to the Chopper from BL1). Maybe not useful, but interesting. :-)

FWIW, as far as the Eridium goes, once you've bought all of the upgrades, there isn't much else to do with it, and if you have the Tina DLC, you can farm the raid bosses at the end for Eridium. They drop around 80 bars per kill.
Drifter critical hit spots are mostly underneath them in B1, so you can take them out quickly if dangerously, by letting them get over you and then wasting them with something like a Serpens or one of the better Ajax's Spear variants. I assume the B2 varieties are just the same.
I don't know that I fancy doing that with this Dexihoojiemaflip though. I have taken out normal drifters with a fibber very quickly, but it is tricky to do, and you do have to get fairly close to them to do it.
It will be an interesting, if expensive experience.
Well, that's what the Wiki says. Of course it could be wrong, but he's definitely tough. The bigger problem may be that you have to hit the critical hit spots to do serious damage.
Dexi has several critical hit spots (the white-ish spots) around his body. Hitting one of those does more damage, but it will probably take quite a few hits to kill him (if he's around your level), and the spots are destroyed when you shoot them (as I recall, the BL1 drifters were the same), so you can't just keep blasting the same spot and doing critical hit damage. Each destroyed spot eventually grows back, but it takes time.
IOW, if you try to go toe-to-toe with him, it's probably not going to end well. :-)
I learned the hard way in B1 that drifters are not to be taken lightly. B2 versions are trickier if anything. Arizona was no pushover, and from the sound of it Dexi is rather harder. Not looked for YouTube guides etc yet.
I have absolutely no plans to go toe-to-toe with him. I would be quite content sniping him from the balcony of the lodge, except that I don't think sniper rifles will be all that effective. I do think that the lodge is a good idea though for re-stocking on the large amount of ammo that will be needed :) UVHM for better loot, so 20 Billion damage ??? or something equally silly.
well, since you mentioned the tiny tina dlc, you can certainly waste as much eridium as you want there after you have saved "the queen".
best, er, "slot machine" in the game. best (only?) way to see some of the new gemstone skinned very rare weapons.
