So then how are the videos on youtube of people having legendary class mods at 50? From my own personal in game experience, the one and only legendary (or anything of value) i've ever gotten from the loot midgets in the Wildlife Preserve (the 4 in that room out of the boxes) was a lvl 43 Legendary psycho (Nipple salads!) mod. I wasn't 61 or 62 and it was there.
There are two sets of Legendary class mods. The original set includes 1 for each class -- Legendary Soldier (commando), Hunter (assassin), Berserker (gunzerker), Siren, Mechromancer and Psycho. The second level cap increase added 3 new Legendary class mods for each class. They're legendary versions of 3 of their regular class mods, like Legendary Ranger, Engineer and Pointman for the commando. Legendary Anarchist is one of those newer mods.
You can get the original Legendary class mods at most any level, once you start finding class mods. The lowest I've found was 20.
But the newer mods don't start dropping until around level 62 (ie. in the levels added by the second level cap increase).
The level 50 Legendary mods in the videos you mentioned were presumably the original mods. If you saw a level 50 version of one of the other mods, it was presumably "Gibbed".
Gotcha! Okay, that makes sense; i kept hearing about legendary mods from the UVHM upgrade but then seeing videos of people at 50 with legendary mods and was thus confused.
Outside of the one i found from the loot midgets i've never seen a legendary class mod anywhere (Slayer of Terramorphus not included). I've even farmed the supposed hot spots for chubbies and gotten nothing. The only chubby i've gotten anything from was a random skag in Three Horns and he dropped the Bunny. I do'nt suppose you have tips for Chubbies do ye?
That's the one i keep hearing most people use. I've yet to see a Chubby there the many times i've been in the area.
Just to be clear, _chubby_ enemies don't drop the newer Legendary class mods. You get chubby enemies in Normal Mode and TVHM. In UVHM, they're called tubby. Tubbies can drop the newer Legendary class mods, starting around level 62.
And if you're looking for chubbies to try to get some of the original Legendary class mods, like Legendary Soldier, you're wasting your time. The designated drops for chubbies, and tubbies lower than ~62 (or if you don't have the second level cap increase), are the Bunny launcher, the WTF shield, the Cracked Sash shield (purple), and a special skin for each character. If you have the second level cap increase, the newer Legendary class mods get added to the tubby loot pool starting around level 62 (and then they actually seem to drop those a lot more than the other items). But you're not going to get any of the _original_ Legendary class mods from chubbies _or_ tubbies, except maybe as a completely random drop, which is extremely unlikely.
For the original Legendary class mods, loot midgets may be one of your better bets. Pete (Torgue DLC) also drops them fairly often. Otherwise, anywhere you can farm "red" (high quality) chests. The Mercenary Day DLC can be pretty good, because the chest after the boss always includes some of everything, including 8 class mods.
