Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2

I don't really like The Pre-Sequel playable characters.
I haven't really seen much of the game yet, but from what i have seen The Pre-Sequel looks a little bit worse than Borderlands 2. One thing that really doesnt seem like an improvement to me are the playable characters.
In both Borderlands 1 and 2 the playable characters were interesting and likeable. However, the playable characters in The Pre-Sequel look kinda' bland and generic in my opinion. If you are also disappointed in the new characters or just feel like saying what you think about them, then feel free to comment below.

Well I don't know who this ''Athena'' rascal is, I don't like Nisha, aka, ''The Sheriff'' I don't really feel comfortable playing as a CL4P-TP unit, and Wilhelm gets killed as part of Borderlands 2's story.

Wow, yeah, these characters aren't so great. 'Least not in my opinion.

See what i mean? In Borderlands 1 and 2 the characters were all very likeable and interesting (Axton is a bit boring tho).
In Borderlands 2 all the characters had pretty cool abilities, purposes, and personality.
In The Pre-Sequel you get to play as "Captain America" (they are calling him Athena in this game for some reason XD). Idk im gonna miss the old characters :(

I pre-ordered on the first day, just because you canplay Claptrap. Looking at the talent trees, I'm looking forward to playing Nisha. Wilhelm looks pretty good too.
Athena's from the General Knoxx DLC guys. Yeah I'll probably play as her, that'd be fun.

Well its not actually Claptrap though. Also what looked good about Wilhelm? I mean i guess he would probably be the most interesting out of that set of dull characters, but he didnt seem all that fun to play as. What are his abilities?

Yeah i know what shes from, i just think that shes a kinda' dull character and doesnt have a skill set that really serves a huge purpose. In Borderlands 2 Maya was the medic, Zero was the assassin, Salvador was the heavy weapons kinda guy, and Axton was... well he was Axton i guess. In Borderlands 2 all the characters kinda' had a purpose. Athena just has a shield which seems like it might be overpowered. Out of all of the characters in The Pre Sequel, i will probably end up playing as Athena, just because she can throw her shield (sort of like a less awesome version of Kreig's axe).

one thing i didnt like from the tiny amount of gameplay ive bothered to watch is that combat (especially low gravity) looks really slow compared to bl2, i dont know if it is because im playing as zero with maxed out bloodshed but pre sequel kust looks really slow
Yeah they did the whole moon/low gravity thing because they felt the need to make a change and introduce something new, but i dont really like that either. I mean it would be cool to have SOME low gravity places in the game, but it looks like its gonna be like that pretty much everywhere. Also the moon looks boring... i dont think anyone can really disagree with me there.

that awesome trailer on the store page almost has me convinced though, tough choice
http://store.steampowered.com/app/261640/
Alright yeah, the new trailer did redeem it some for me. Also i will admit that Nisha's abilities actually do seem cool. However the characters still seem sorta' bland and the abilties seem to be a bit overpowered. Idk i was planning to buy the game already (even though i was skeptical), just because its borderlands. That new trailer made me feel a bit better about it though and i might be pleasantly surprised by the characters when i play. Also working for Handsome Jack is a plus, since he and Tiny Tina are my favorite characters... that reminds me: Where the ♥♥♥♥ is Tiny Tina! I would guess that she isnt born yet or something, but the game isnt going to be the same without her. You cant replace Tiny Tina, but they will probably try. I wonder who her replacement would be and if they will be any good...

yeah nisha does look like an okay replacement for zero, but back to the slowness thing even her melee whip looks really slow to use
Well thats because the whip isnt her melee. Its a special ability that you get stacks for by taking damage. Also I think (but dont know for sure) that it just seemed slow because they were mainly showing jumping in the trailers, so that they could demonstrate the low gravity. The jumping in low gravity is slow.
Btw Nisha isnt really a replacement for Zero at all. She would actually be closer to Salvador.

they made the whip slow on purpose for a longer range melee attack. the upgrade is the thundercrack whip, which adds shock damage

he summons do drones one heals and repairs his shield the other one attacks, down his middle tree gives him upgrades that also effect his over all appearence, for example investing into the skill that lets wilhelm shoot while sprinting gives him robotic legs. his capstone down the middle tree is called vengenace cannon. when your shields go down you get the vengenace cannon which fires at enemies. on the saint tree to the right the most noticeable skill for me is one called termination protocol (or something along the lines) that when he is down he can run around and shoot in FFYL and when it ends there is a nuclear explosion (PS it is the same claptrap from borderlands 1 and 2 the INAC (interplanatery ninja assassin claptrap)

I honestly hope that there are more diverse locations than just the moon. I'm not really sure about the gravity jumping and such. I will wait and see how the game plays before I pass judgement though.
Well better not place judgement on the game that not even out yet. It's just unfair to judge something by its cover though. Also for sake of your own, don't expect something too much.
Even they are in same series, they are *not* a same game.

I have a feel they did way too much showcase on their new BL game this time and made everything seems disappointed and unsurpirsed for most people. Unlike BL1 and 2.

did INAC turn bad again (despite that little remote-control like gizmo being used on him) sometime after the events in the "Robot Revolution" DLC?? apologies if this sounds like a dumb question, but i'm not sure on this one
