FWIW, it can also contain pearls in UVHM (same as any other regular loot source).

I got a Legendary Psycho calss mod on UVHM from the train, it likes to give out E-Tech rocket launchers on regular and true, I've got about 6 E-Tech launchers from Mercenary Day

Short answer, no. If you can find it in a regular chest, you can find it there, but some items have specific sources. Things like the Norfleet, the new Legendary Class mods (eg. Legendary Cat), and the new pearls added by UVHUP2. Those can only be dropped by specific enemies and won't be found anywhere else.

Keep in mind some things are dlc specifc and can not be added to the mix.
note: Ironic Orange can be found in trash bins but not the Golden Chest. (Without CE that is.)

I do not look for legendaries but have used the train to boost my shields, grenade mods, smgs etc. when I level up BUT I have gotten legendary mods for 4 different charactors as well as pistals and a conference call. Killing "Frosty" is a way to quickly boost levels if that is your goal. Also when I run low on money I find the train very good since most of the 30-40 items I don't need and can sell them.

OK, that's kind of annoying. :-) I've used Snowflake to level up several characters in UVHM (it took around 13 kills to go up a level), and farmed the train at various levels, including OP8, so I've killed him hundreds of times in UVHM, and he's never dropped a legendary. But it's not like I'm jealous or anything.

In UVHM, the pearls that were added by the first level cap increase can show up anywhere you find normal loot, including that chest. I've gotten Stalkers, Unforgivens, a Sawbar, a Tunguska and an Avenger from the train chest.
