can i do it as a level 16?ive been farming for a long time but still nothing
Not exactly. He can drop one when you kill him for the mission (although I don't think he ever has for me). But after you kill him for the mission, you have to turn in the mission before he will respawn (that's the way it usually works for bosses that are part of a mission). After you turn in the mission, he'll be there again every time you load that character.
You can get an Infinity from Mercy, but, as someone else posted, the Infinity will be around Mercy's level, which won't change in Normal Mode. Any Infinity you get from him in Normal Mode will be around level 10 or lower.
You can try him again in TVHM. I guess he's around the mid-30's in TVHM (I can't remember), but when you complete the main game, he'll scale up to 52 (?), like everything else in the main game, and you can get a level 50 from him then.
Do I really have to shut down the game then sign back in???
In order for Doc Mercy to be available for farming, you must have completed the following optional missions in this order:
1 Do no Harm given by Dr Zed in Sanctuary.
2 Medical Mystery given by Dr Zed in Sanctuary.
3 Medical mystery: X-Com-Municate given by Doc Mercy's corpse.
Once you've completed the quest Medical mystery: X-Com-municate you just have to Save and Quit, and return to the area where you defeated him (Three Horns-Valley).
It's not worth it , even if a perfect roll infinity dropped it would be outclassed by any random drop 5 levels higher.
At most I would say farm a unkempt harold because it's easy to get and any one will be "good enough".
You should try to speed thru normal mode as fast as you can , skip side quests unless you are dying and need better gear and levels.
You can slow down in TVHM and some people just decide to stay there because they don't like the difficulty spike in UVHM , but staying in normal is not worth it , the gear that drops will be outclassed instantly , if you do side quests you will quickly hit the level cap and start getting bad exp for everything.
Infinity isn't even that good , if you are having problems with ammo you have a bigger problem , not enough damage.
You shouldn't be running out of ammo unless your aim is god awful or your damage is terrible and it takes a full clip just to kill a bandit. (or you are doing something silly like only using one type of gun , use different types so you have different ammo usage Pistol , SMG , shotgun/AR and a rocket launcher for when you need second winds is good.
And then even 2 replies that do no answer the actual quest
As for what to do to make enemies respawn:
Quit to the menu. That's it. The game does NOT safe which enemies are alive and every time you load your character they will all respawn.
The exception is enemies you got a mission for - in general they require you to hand in the quest and only after that they will respawn.
