Math not needed. Since damage on the Infinity is garbage anyways, and accuracy is nil due to the nature of the bullet spray, the only real impact is Rate of Fire. And even then... meh.

My favorite is the Purging Infinity but like Newtroll said that's like saying my favorite Yugo was the 45 vs the 65 :)

Depends on the character imo.

Dva with no fire rate buffs and w/o the bee.

Vengeful for Zer0/Sal with high rof buffs (Fearless, Keep Firing, Two Fang, Sheriff's badge) or with the Bee.

Second shot on Dva's wrecks an already awful spread pattern. I'd go with Vengeful, but as NewTroll already said, gun is mediocre. Semi-decent for NKLO abuse, but that would be it.

dva is not worth it you will do more damage with vengeful fire rate
the problem is most players don't use the infinity as a close range weapon
"its closer than you think"(no it isn't)

of those two, i'd take the vengeful. more than 10% greater rate of fire vs not nearly that large an increase in damage.

Well, I kept wondering about those 2 pistols because of this debate:
- http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=197138

They even bring in mathematics expert to calculate, so I was wondering if I can get some help from the mathematics expert here. In order to see if they'll give the same answer or not, because this debate has left me hanging.

oh... i didn't realize dva it was a 2x shooter, but that the 2x'ing is gimped for the infinity? that would change things.

Infinities can spawn with the "Dva" prefix, which on other Vladof weapons indicates it will fire two rounds per shot. However, the corresponding Dva accessory used by the Infinity is actually a special version which only has a 1-in-4 chance of generating a second bullet when fired.

DPSecond = damage-per-shot * shots-per-second = damage-per-second

vDPS = 277805 * 10.4 = 2889172
dDPS = 282918 * (9 + 9/4) = 282918 * 11.25 = 3182827.5

Its definitely not really that simple though. The dva's damage output is not constant, it has a spike up about 2 times per second. If a pair of spiked up shots happen to miss vs a single vengeful shot missing, the dva's damage output would be lower than the vengefuls for that second. Hmmm.. the assumptions you make about the chance of missing a shot makes a difference. And when a dva fires 2x rounds, do those rounds both hit exactly in the same place or is there skew? If the skew is large enough such that if one hits the other will miss, there's no way to ever get the maximal DPS, but there's a greater chance of at least one of the dbl shots hitting than there is for a single vengeful shot hitting.

Idk, I think you need a statistician or something to figure it out :)

I like to use it with Gaige to soften a group up, or even take em out around a corner etc. Otherwise CLOSE is good as you are hitting them very fast with many many bullets, this is a good thing LOL But really, at any real distance you miss way more than you hit, good thing it never runs out.

Never had a DVA, but I do have Vengeful, with a Sheriffs Badge that lil thing spits out a lot of bullets. BUT I stay ready to switch to my trusty SMG or DPUH when things get crazy.

Two major factors to consider would be the infinity-sign spray of the bullets and the wild spray of the second-shots. Since both mean guaranteed more misses than hits, unless you're standing at point blank range or fighting extremely weak opponents, the Vengeful is going to beat out the Dva everytime.

Math faster fire rate = more actual hits = more damage

But again, we're talking about the Infinity here so it really shouldn't matter. It is NOT a DPS gun. It's a niche gun so you should be using the version that goes into your particular niche (i.e. skill sets, elemental needs, weapon combos, etc...)

After watching my own recording:

I guess I agree with most of you that, Vengeful Infinity is stronger. Thank you very much everyone, for your help.

i would say always have a infinity with you since in the end a weapon is better than 4 weapons out of ammo which happens. in my experience pistol ammo is easiest to find so even if you only find one pistol bullet in the area your getting cornered in you can unleash death quicker than with your fists
