level wrong it says 666

Last night I joined a game that was running some wierd mods and now I am level 666. Obviously when I search for games, none are found. I was a level 72 with OP6. What can I do to fix it?

I think you can use a save editor to change your level back to OP6.

The host had Cheat Engine running, most likely.

Also, I am afraid, The Blitzkrieg is right, and you need that Gibbed Editor to edit your savegame.

That really sucks but it should be a quick fix with Gibbed. You can reset your level back to level 72 and your OP to 6 once your save file is loaded. Good luck!

Or just start a new game! Best part of this game is levelling so thank the jerk who tried to ruin your game and have fun on a whole new playthrough.

Set you level, then synk your EXP points, then save

Don't edit your save while the game is running. The save is already in memory and will overwrite your edit.

This, also you should switch to another character (just in case, I've heard reports of that, too), then edit your problem toon, and after saving that, switch back to the correct char.

-did you engage in any sort of spirit invoking rituals ?
-did you think dirty about Mad Moxxi ?
-If the answer to previous question is yes, did you touch your private parts while doing that ? (I know it's embarassing, but if we're to help I need you to be honest)

What problems have you heard about with editting the currently selected save file?

I haven't had any trouble editting the save file for the most recently played character and then continuing the game? One thing I've been specifically doing from time to time is pushing my level down back to the very start of level 50. But iirc, I think I've only done that once when I was above level 50, usually i'm getting close to level 51 and reset it before crossing the xp line.

I altered one, saved and when I continued the game it was back to unaltered. I tried again and then selected it again and it worked, odd. Or edit with game not running at all works.

Sry, was a bit unclear on that point. You can very well edit a savegame while the game is running - You have to be on the main menu, though. But if you have selected the character that is being edited (meaning, he/she is displayed at the main meu while Clappy runs around) the save won't nessesarily take effect. So, it was just to note that one doesn't need to exit the game entirely, but has to take precautions. In this case, to switch to another toon before saving that edit.

No, it's safe. There is no VAC detection in this game.
I wouldn't even discuss it if the use was banable, btw ;)
