Why did Salvadore have to be so short, almost a midget?

It is Gearbox's perception of racial characteristics. They were doing a racial profiling, I think. Salvadore is obviously a Mexican or a Hispanic. But why did Gearbox have to make him so short? I've seen some tall Mexicans.

What do you think about this? I know it's just a game. Am I too sensitive? (By the way, I'm not a Hispanic.)

Well, some will say they are all aliens in a planet in a different galaxy. But Salvador is obviously a Hispanic. Roland is a black guy. And Nakayama is a Japanese guy. :)

Racial profiling! What do those two words mean to you? Here's what they mean to me: "The use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offence."

Did you mean to say that the Gearbox design team is rascist? Did you notice that Maya is a women and all sirens are women afaict. Is Gearbox guilty of sexism too? I've seen men with blue tattoos.

OK, so, no Mexicans are short? Yes, Sal is short, but IMHO he is also the most OP. He kicks butt and has no time for names.

I think that Borderlands is hilarious, but they do seem to have a thing for dwarfs.
If one would be suspiscious of these things, Salvador seems like a lame excuse:
"Yeah, we know you kill lots of midgets, but now the Vault Hunters have one, too!"

Personally, I don't care much, plus I have a weird sense of humour - One that BL2 hits
right on. For example, I am german, and I just love Kraut-Jokes. There are too few, IMO.
Go ahead, tell me some, I can take it. In fact, I want to hear/read them.
Even below the belt ones.

There are many things in BL that could be labeled as "questionable humour" if one is inclined to think that way.

You might as well point out that Moxxi is a total skank, and a somewhat negative image of women overall. Her daughter is so over-the-top fat that this could also be seen as insulting to overweight people. Most Pandorans come across as "typical" Hillbillys - Again very insulting to people living in rural areas of America.

Bottom line: As always, overthinking it doesn't do much good. It is a very crude form of humour at times, I do realize that, but I can laugh about most things in Borderlands.

I'm sorry, but from what I've seen, Salvador can't instakill Hyperius the Invincible like Maya with the right gear, or kill Terramorphous as quickly as Zero with Bore and a Fire Conference Call.

I didn't realize Sal was short for a real long time. I play solo and never as that character. I always thought he was huge based on images of his character not in-game.

I think its funny that such a beastly character is actually smallish in stature and i think this comedic incongruity is by design.

That's funny, because Sal was my first character and I had no clue that he was short until about halfway through TVHM. I always assumed he was huge like Brick.

I have never seen either one of those waltz though mobs generating more health than the the mobs were taking or keeping up. Isolated examples, Sal mows through crowds, he can't phaselock and does not have bore but he shoots twice as many guns and he is a tank when set up for it.

I thought the thing about Sal was that he is over-compensating for some things. If he is so short, perhaps he used drugs or such that killed his growth before he finish growing, so now he is loud and Gunzerks to make up for that.

Also, about Sal being OP, it isn't so much about nuking enemies down the fastest. Double Penetrating Unkempt Harold and a Grog Nozzle while Gunzerking, a good skill setup, and he will never bloody die. He will be about as immortal as the Target Practice dummy in Marcus's shop, and he will have great damage output as well. Might not be "insta-gib everything!" damage, but with how much he can tank, the damage output is fantastic.
