PhysX on and AMD Card?
After the patch i noticed that in the settings its giving me an option for Nvidia Physx settings, I have the Radeon HD 7670m+7660G cards. Is this just an error is the ini file or am i really able to use the PhysX in this game?

no you can never run hardware level physx on an AMD gpu.

i know it can be done by doing a setting in an INI file all it does is turns on software physx i did it when i owned a 6870 card didn't impact the game too much.

how does that make any sense? you cant run hardware or software effects on the AMD gpu. physx software level effects are always run on the cpu and hardware effects are run on the cpu too if you enable them without an Nvidia gpu.

ok let me help you use google and yes it does make sense if you know the difference between hardware physx (Nvidia GPU) and software Physx (ATI GPU)

Thanks for that thread, was not aware of a software version of Physx only thought it was dedicated to Nvidia. Makes sense now.

I just mentioned that there was software level effects. again whether software or hardware they will always run on the cpu if you have an AMD card. there is NO such thing as running physx on an AMD gpu. Gropax has no clue what he is saying and neither do most of the people in that thread.

ok I will try and make it more simple.

physx is a physics engine just like havok. some games that use physx will offer optional hardware level effects.

software physx are low level effects that run on the cpu for everyone. its the standard setting but in BL 2 they call it low.

hardware physx are optional higher level effects that are designed to run on Nvidia gpus. if you enable hardware physx and you have an AMD gpu, those effects will be run on the cpu.
